Thats interesting what you said about valuing work clothes higher. I definitely do that, since i work 5-6 days a week, and i like to be dressy. My work stuff works for dressy non work occasions, and i mix work pieces in for weekends.

But, i work out at least 4 days a week. Far fewer actual hours than in the office, but a good size capsule needed. Yet i dont consider spending a lot on gear. I like it to coordinate, but its functional. Ill spend very little on casual wear, since i only wear it one day most weeks (i dont go out sundays). Im very much an outdoor person, but dont feel like me when dressed down. I dont have that all American girl that looks great in jeans and t shirt look. I get "where are you from " and people trying to guess my ethnicity.

Sun Tiger, arg! What a frustrating question. I bet you’ve seen this video. https://youtu.be/crAv5ttax2I. You said you’re an outdoor person, but don’t like to dress down....do you wear gear/workout clothes when you’re outside?

Valuing work clothes over others makes sense to me. For office workers, attire can be a factor in their image, which directly affects pay. For people with physical jobs, I can completely see valuing something that was comfortable and easy to work in, offered protection from the elements, or was important for safety.

Im used to it, when i tell them im half Brazilian the light comes on! Last week someone asked if i was Indian, that was new...
No i wear bright happy shorts and tank tops and walking sandals, or casual dresses outside. I dont hate wearing gear like Angie does, but its not street wear for me
That first bit of the video is exactly what i get, figured it was a rural thing! I was cracking up at the end of that video glad the lady in next office is out today!

Ah, that makes sense. Sounds like you go for walks or to cookouts or the like. I was thinking more of, idk, hiking or cycling, that gets you a little sweatier.
The question my son gets is “is that your mom?” We are used to it, but that doesn’t mean we don’t make up snappy answers later and laugh about them.
