Searching for a summer dress for wedding

My cousin marries in the middle of June and I don't have anything to wear. I sorted out the dressy outfit for my sister's confirmation without much shopping (I only bought the blazer new), but I don't want to repeat the outfit. I don't really have a need for a dressy occasion dress at the moment, but I'd love to wear a dress I could continue to wear in my everyday life later on! I know that many of your go to brands aren't available in Germany, but do you have any idea where to look and what to look for? I've tried to pay a bit of attention to what's been in our stores recently, but haven't seen anything I liked. Alternatively I could wear the 'stained glass window' skirt again with a different top. Any ideas?

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors? Day or night? I would definitely go with a dress, because that is my preference. If it's outdoors during the day, you can get away with something more casual that you might like to wear for date nights or what have you.

Day and indoors, but I know the venue and there will be the possibility to sit outside too. I'm not sure how dressy this is going to be.

Astrid, I wonder what you might think about something different like a dressy tunic over slim pants? That way both items could get more wear beyond the wedding.

Oh, I like that! I hadn't thought beyond dress or skirt. I'd have to think about the length though, I think full length pants might end up being too warm depending on the weather. So maybe clamdiggers with a tunic?

I was thinking slim fit lightweight pants. Not sure if clamdiggers would be slim enough, but maybe? In a good fabric but they could be black if the top weren't black, right?

Of course if you are a dress girl, you may prefer the dress but I'm more of a pants girl.

Thanks Texstyle. I am more of a dress girl. I would say finding a dress would be easier than finding well fitting pants and the right top, but I might be wrong. I can't get the first link to work, can you fix it? I'm not sure the second option would be dressy enough.

Have you checked MANGO? I love their dresses and normally they fit better than other shops. Plus, their price range is acceptable.

I think a summery floral or lace dress with a fitted bodice and a full skirt would be so pretty on you, Astrid. You could wear a wrap, little cardigan, or jacket over it if it gets cool out, but they're pretty and modest by themselves. If the fabric is not too dressy it would be good for everyday wear afterward.

I love the first one, but of course it's outrageously expensive. The others are more reasonable. But these are just to give an idea- you can probably find something along these lines near you.

Thanks for the links, Irene! I'm definitely going to go and have a look at Mango. Those shift style dresses are probably cut too straight and some of the others look very short, but I agree that they have nice and affordable stuff. Worth a try. I might go have a look on my way home.

Thanks Parsley. I agree, the first one is fantastic! I thought of something similar, but fit and flare dresses that are long enough are hard to find at the moment. I'll try though. It would be fab to wear a dress like this with one of my denim jackets afterwards.

Have you checked Orsay? It's a german brand I personally love and own a lots of dresses for them. The pricepoint is quite low, and i found them to be a good quality.
They rotate stock quite often ( much like Zara) so i would keep my eyes peeled. Look both online and in stores ( witch carry a larger selection and stuff that might not be available online)
