Mine in the 60's did definitely not look like that photo. I wore them then and they had to be worn with boots so you did not see the stirrups. We made fun of the old ladies who wore them with high heel pumps and sandals. we wore ours with boots only. I did see they were coming back--will not do them again, as there are other things to wear now,

I'm a big nope, but will look forward to seeing anyone style these. I can't stand the straight undefined shape they give to the ankle area, and they feel like a foot leotard.

OMGoodness, I loved those back in the day. I could probably be persuaded to wear them again

I'm laughing at some of these responses. . .LavenderMoon and Rachylou. . . .!
I wore stirrup pants very, very long ago. Maybe when I was 6 or so? But I don't recall wearing them later.
I would definitely try them. They seem a match made in heaven for those of us with curvy or muscular calves that straight or skinny pant legs always get hung up on. I'm forever trying to surreptitiously pull my pant legs back down, dragging the top of one shoe down the back of my calf, when I stand up. (Right, pure grace, I'm sure.) So I say: yee haw! Bring on the stirrups!

Here's Angie 6 years ago guys! Be careful what you say...

I can't go back there. I wore them for all three pregnancies, say no more !

I think wearing them tucked into the boots is a good! But otherwise, a biiig NO NO!

I wore them back in the '90s, but always tucked into boots. They were practical, cosy and looked no different from slim jeans/leggings.
I agree that they can look odd with other footwear - unless your name is Angie, of course!

Wow, Anne! Thanks for digging that up. That was before I found YLF, but so interesting to see how Angie's style has evolved since then.

I wore them as a child in the '60s, but didn't wear them in the '80s and don't plan to wear them now.

I wouldn't laugh too soon, either.
I never had any, but the comments are interesting to me.

Is it the stirrup elastic, or was it the styles available then? A lot of the comments about inseam and stride and taper and so on may be independent of the stirrup part. What if they were re-done, different fabrics, different designs and cuts?

Isn't it kind of like a bodysuit--there would be design and comfort factors and what's above the waist. And certain people may have more problems with tucking and creeping and all that.
And there is who should and shouldn't wear them, and how, as with any fashion item, using "fashion judgement", of course, recognizing "it's a free country".

I used to buy mine at Express in the mall. In the 80s they typically had no ankle shaping, were often made of thicker polyblend fabric and they created a dreadful "ice cream cone" look that flattered pretty much no one except supermodels.. If the new ones are like regular thin jersey leggings, but with an added stirrup, they'll be fine and avoid these problems. But in the 80s the look was not super fitted to the leg, and I think that's why so many of us react with "ugh".
