same shoe, different color?

Hello,

Today, I received theses SJP sandals in Taffy and I love them.
The heel is daintier and less "blocky" than many others I have looked at and they are comfortable and to me look up-to-date and modern.
Now I also want them in Orchid

I understand duplicating an item so there is a back-up for when it wears out, but how about wearing the same item, at the same time, in a different color?
Unimaginative, boring, smart...?

if you love them, and they are comfortable, i think duplicating in a different color is a great idea. i own the same patent leather pump in black and navy, after all a good work pump is hard to find. i duplicated a paul green sandal in metalic and cognac becuase it was so comfortable and worked dressed up and dressed down.

If they're a workhorse for you, sure! Though I'd wait until you've had the first pair for a few weeks, so that the first glow of enthusiasm can wear off a bit and you have some space to see how comfortable they are for longer wear and how they fit into your closet.

I've done this but I agree with Liz about waiting a bit to see if you continue to love them. You could order them but just hold off on cutting the tags until you're sure.

I have difficulty obtaining my size so when my size is available in a shoe/sandal I like I purchase all/many of the colours. I haven't been sorry yet.

I think Liz's suggestion is a good one, to wait a little bit before cutting the tags on the new pair, to make sure that the Taffy pair is as comfy as you need it to be and that the style works well with your wardrobe.

I think that if you buy both, you should wear both at the same time, because they are so different. I normally "save" a duplicate only if it's an exact duplicate (same color). I might save a different color if it's very similar to the one I'm currently wearing and I expect to wear the shoe a lot (at leat a few times a week).
