Erin, I'm sorry you had a bad experience. I hope it was a fluke though. I have never ordered anything from them--I am not even sure how they originally got my email to invite me. As far as I know, only one person who I referred bought anything. (They send me a notice when people accept an invite and when they buy something.) If anyone else has had experience with them, I hope they speak up. If it's a ramant problem I will not continue to send them names.

I just ordered a couple pairs of shoes from them for the first time. The prices were great and I can't wait to receive my shoes...which is weeks after I ordered them for some reason. Has anyone else had that experience? I bought them at the very beginning of April and won't receive them until the 20th...

Heads up ladies! I also have had a bad expeience with their customer service department. Beware! My invice said I could return up to a month later (by May 7 2009), but they are rejecting the return saying it was noted at the front page in a small pink emblem that the items were "final sale" . This was not noted at the individual item level on the "quick view" & "add to cart" screens nor was it stated at time of checkout -- it said I had 30 days to return. Their messages conflict -- and wont even consider giving me merchandise credit for a future purchse. I will no longer be shopping with Rue La La - even though I have used Smart Bargains for many years and have spent thousands there. The Rue La La customer service department seems to forget they are there for the customer. I have been buying on the web for over 12 years and have never encountered anything quite like this group!

Ugh! I should have made sure to check this thread before ordering. Hopefully I don't have any problems with my shoes. Usually I know my exact sizing with the brand so I hope the shoes fit! Everything I saw said they could be returned for store credit. I saw no "final sale" notice, but it sounds like they don't make it obvious!

Smart Bargains was very easy to deal with when I had a return.

Yes, I absolutely love shopping on member-only sites for saving money online. I have been finding the best deals at Rue La La and Gilt as of late. However, you have to get to the sale fairly early when it opens because these deals are selling out so fast. I’ve hesitated on buying an item I wanted and then a few hours later it was already sold out. Such is life.
