Repurposing wedding gown

This gown is from a previous marriage, so I didn’t want to keep it. The wedding dress from my present marriage is in my closet. I was so thin that none of my DDs can wear it, but I keep it anyway. My mom made both dresses. The one being donated is a full-length gown that’s covered in lace.

What a great idea. Much better than storing a gown for decades. I wore my sister's gown and gave it back to her later. She was saving it for her daughter, but DD wanted a new gown of her own. I don't blame her. My Mom made the gown for my sister and then had to enlarge it for me. (She added a panel down the back.)

My other sister has my Mom's gown. She was so skinny when she married and we are all taller and bigger. I'm going to check and see if she still has it. And if her house stays safe in the Nor Cal fires. She should recycle it.
