Replacement for Ecco Soft 7 III sneakers? ETA Sorted :-)

I’m looking for a replacement for the Ecco Soft 7 III leather slip on sneaker. Ecco seems to have mostly discontinued them. They don't offer them on their web site. I did find them at Amazon in black (sold out in most sizes including mine) and a rose/grey color I don’t want, but otherwise they don’t seem to be available anywhere. I think they also also came in navy and a dark brown color. (After I wrote this I reached out to a former neighbor who is a shoe designer at Ecco - he has confirmed that they've discontinued this style).

They were super popular at 2019 NAS, although I didn’t get mine until Sept of that year. They are probably the most comfortable shoes I’ve ever worn and I LOVE the style. I sized up a little, added an additional insert, and can probably get another spring/summer/fall out of them, but I wanted to start looking for a replacement now or maybe a second color.

The style of the upper is one of the things I really like and want to replicate. No laces and a permanently attached but stretchy tongue. Bonus points for a non-white sole A small platform might be ok. I'm not looking for a flat vamp "loafer" style, oxfords, or anything with laces; those are different enough to not qualify as replacements.

Has anyone found anything like them?

Thanks Aquamarine! Not so sure I like the zipper look but will definitely check them out. Grabbed some finds below - they seem to come in 3 colors at least on Amazon they do.

Also while I was looking at zippered sneakers on Amazon i found one by Frye (the last find) that comes in a bunch of colors. The zipper is much more prominent (a bright silver) than the zipper in the Eccos, Off to ponder...

Wow, that's going to be a tough replacement. Did you try second-hand sites yet? You might find someone re-selling a new pair.

I have the slip-on sneakers below, from Mephisto, and really like them, but they probably aren't close enough to what you want. (I think they are what you are referring to as a flat vamp loafer style.)

Thanks Firecracker ... I suppose I could look at the second hand sites but shoes are the one thing I don't like to buy after someone else has worn them .... but as you say maybe a "brand new unworn" pair might be offered.
Yes you are right that those mephistos would be what I'd call flat vamp loafer style. I'll probably be considering that style for this spring, just not as a replacement for the Eccos, so thanks for the recommendation!

I had that shoe in tan from NAS. Within the past few months I've purchased them in black from ebay. New. The liner on the inside wasn't exactly the same, but very close. Liked them enough I got another pair. Think I found them for $28 if I remember correctly. Not a long term solution, but just an FYI that if you know exactly what you're looking for, ebay and Poshmark can be good for finding things, even years later.

I have a Kipling nylon crossbody that works well for me. Poshmark has it in multiple colors. A lot new with tags.

If you find something you love as a replacement, I'm definitely interested to hear it.

The Soft 7 Zip came in a navy, too. I have black, navy, and a light grey which looks tan to me. I liked them so much I bought backup pairs of the navy and grey.

I have both the classic Ecco's and a pair of the zipper ones that I got a few years ago at Rack, and which I really like a lot.

Thanks Angie! I know about the lace style - super comfy but somehow don't like it as much as the slip-on. I have a black quilted patent leather pair with laces that I initially liked a lot but I've gone off the style. Still wear them at home - super comfy and long lasting. Overall Ecco's colors are generally too cool for me but I know to keep looking because they change colors every season.

Thanks dashielle! I actually wear a 38 in this style (sometimes a 37 in other Ecco styles), but this give me hope that if I keep stalking I might find them! Appreciate your mentioning it!

I ordered and received these tan ones (thanks JamC!) and they are the exact same model as the ones I have, in the perfect warm "nude" for my warm weather wardrobe.

And Angie (thanks!) recommended this new model (Street Tray Luxe) which comes in a darker tan color and black. I just ordered them in BLACK to be a newer/upgrade to the black ones I already have. (If you are interested may want to move fast ... there were only 3 black ones left on Zappos in size 38 and now there are only 2)

I have not done a good job of cleaning the soles on the ones I have but now I know better and can be more proactive with the new ones.
