Other than trousers - I am not overbuying anything (or so I like to believe).
I think you can never overbuy sheer hose because it just does not last long (at least for me). Actually how many times I have to throw them away just after a single wear - arhggg! This is the category I always buy when I find something.
But for opaque tights - yes, they last and last so I don't really buy them often - or actually don't wear them as often as well.

I opened up my stocking drawer last weekend only to find it full of swimwear and completely devoid of stockings. I had some spats and knit legwarmers from Etsy in with my stockings and now I have no idea where they are. The contents of an entire drawer gone poof! Needless to say, I started buying stockings this weekend (two sheer black patterned pairs). I'm sure this will continue all fall/winter.

But I'd really like to find my spats again!

Long sleeve tissue tees. I always think I need another... I have gotten home to find ones still with tags on.

Pantyhose and those knee high hose -- from back in the day when I used to wear them daily to work. Then, I started *testing* them . . .and discovered that if you hold onto this stuff long enough the elastic rots, gets stick, and crumbles! Great excuse to finally toss the stuff.

I have way too many pairs of socks. They never wear out. And then I started to buy tights, including ones in color. I should have skipped the orange and coral in favor of gold, since it turns out that gold is rather low contrast with my tan booties.

Toothpaste. And the stuff expires. If used when way too old, it tastes icky.

Makeup. Why can't I bring myself to dump the stuff I never wear?

Nail polish. I only started to use the stuff less than two years ago. Why do I have so many bottles? And why do I wear only the same four or so colors? And have a couple I've never even used. [But I think I'll open the black for Halloween and use the fiesta orange as an accent.]

There is no such thing as too many pairs of patterned tights. (She says, shaking head, in complete denial.)

There are only so many patterns that really really work well. They rarely appear. You have to stock up on them. And by that I mean there are about ten variations of great patterns and you must have three of each. And if they are under $2, black, and a non-crazy pattern, you have to buy them. That's nonnegotiable. Because tights under $2 have to be bought on principle. If you pass them up, the tights gods will punish you. All your elastic will crumble and your toe seams will come undone. I know. It happened to my friend's friend.

My secret vice is... soap. Shoeboxes full. From 7 or 8 years ago. And less. I stopped buying 4 years ago but still get gifts. Wait! Wasn't this supposed to be a secret?

At least they don't expire like the little baskets of nailpolish and lipper and eye pencils I finally threw out, some still shrinkwrapped, last year...

You girls crack me up

I have so many pairs of perfect knee socks in black, navy, brown, and gray that I seriously don't have enough bureau space come Fall. And I only use them two months out of the year. And they're not even fun, not like your tights!

I have to try to stop myself from buying lip balms, glosses, lipsticks.... always looking for the perfect nude, or brownish plum, or subdued rose, but I can only use up so many!

“Overbuying” this Word makes me guilty, I cannot stop myself from buying the brooch, scarf, all accessories such as bracelets, rings ,earrings and so on,actually,I have never wore most of them

My weakness seems to be Costco. I think I've got everything I need, then I see some great basics, at great prices, so I throw them in the cart to try, adn they fit, and they are just too good a deal to take back.... picked up a navy cordury skirts for $20 my last visit.... sigh.

LOL K.

Oh yes, the tights thing. I've been there, too, but when it happens, I do what Denise says and sort some out (my daughters are the happy recipients of anything that isn't torn too badly). I've also learned the hard way that I DONT need a dozen of every basic, maybe with the exception of socks and underwear.

This has been such a fun read. I'm this way with nailpolish and socks. I love fun socks lol. I'm sure other things as well but I don't want to dig too deep

Please do cheryl. We all love a good laugh
