This post touched my heart. Princess Eugenie, your son and you have my admiration and respect.
Your son looks very handsome. And what a lovely smile you have, Carla!
My own body is full of scars, due to a serious accident before I was one year old, and countless surgeries afterwards.
People stared and asked most when I was a child. And of course, I sometimes felt hurt when some openly showed that they found my scars ugly.
During the decades, several of my scars have become less dominant/visible. But when meeting new people, I still notice that some stare. I don't care much, and I actually prefer that they ask instead of just staring. I know that most people don't mean to be unkind--they are just curious. So I kindly and patiently give short explanations to those who care. And quite often, this works as an "ice-breaker"--it makes people open up and tell parts of their own life stories.
