Maya, not in YLF grad school yet, but I totally know where you're coming from. I hate wearing what other people will probably wear and I always try to jump ahead of what people are currently sporting. I'm getting sick of the "pop of color" - I've always been bold with color. Angie's all-black outfit the other day actually inspired me to do all black (except for jeans), down to my bag and shoes. I haven't done that in a long time and it felt so nice to not follow the formula for once.
I also can't stand having the same hairstyle as what is considered "in", and since so many looks are acceptable currently it's difficult to come up with something new. I always had very long hair but as soon as the long messy look came in I had to chop it off asymmetrically.
Thanks for giving me more ideas. I'm going to see how I can play with texture and mixing pieces in my closet. I haven't been dressing in a funky style lately and I miss it.
