Angie, it just felt a bit bulky under a blazer for me. Especially if layered over a shirt as well. I'm not sure why that is.
Christina, no -- our house is about 70 (though sometimes in the kitchen warmer, if we are cooking). It has something to do with the humidity here. I find merino is the absolute best for me here -- neither too hot nor too cold. A lot of other knits have become problematic (for me) in this climate. I used to wear cashmere all winter in Ontario and could wear it over a tank top or camisole, if I wanted to. Here, I can only wear it if it is a top layer (over another layer, so, ideally a cardigan or a hoodie with an opening). Otherwise I get too hot and itchy. It's the damp air vs. the temperature, really, I think.
Truly, this is a lovely lovely item and I do recommend it. It just wasn't exactly what i wanted. I was remembering a beautiful Zella cashmere/ wool hoodie in a textured knit that I ordered purposely oversized. It draped so beautifully, never overheated me, and the only problem was that it pilled like the dickens and there was no way to prevent that! Sometimes when you are trying to replace an item, you're not easily satisfied.
