I was on an underwear hunt for a while last year. For my pear shape, the rump is too big and boyshorts do not stay put on me. Even the Shimera one's which I believe Angie likes, they are super soft but do not stay.

For more coverage days I have fallen in love with Felina, and own the Felina 'Sublime' and Felina 'Aubrie' Bikini styles. They are super soft and have a cotton liner. I do not like non cotton liners in underwear.

For less coverage days, I find the less material the better. Also the amount of elastic makes a difference. I prefer Felina 'Lush Lace G' Thong and Felina 'Sublime' Thong.

Thank you goldenpig for asking and all the ladies who responded. I am one of the team that doesn't wear thongs. I tried a pair once and hated the feeling that my underwear were creaped up all the time. I was in stiches reading the review of the c-string.

April--- I already posted my exact solution to the cotton invisible undies problem on this thread--- Natori bliss girl shorts--- the lace edges instead of seams eliminate VPL. They are a hipster--- so more like a low rise brief in the cut-- bootay coverage, but no extra fabric to fight with the thighs.

I bat for Team Thong! My mother and teenaged daughter both gang up on me about the butt floss, but I have to have them!

If they're not for you, they're not for you. But they're definitely for me! I'm with Lisa, in that my behind is quite round and the boy shorts just don't stay put. With that much fabric migrating to where it should not be there is WAY more of a wedgie problem than with thongs. My heavens! And given the round butt issue, my VPLs are very in-your-face if I don't have the right underwear on.

I agree with the posts here that some styles are uncomfortable, but most are fine for me. I'm sure it was rough at first, but now it's been so long that I don't remember ever not wearing them (except as a child, I guess). I love the indulgent brands, silk and lace as much as any gal, but for everyday I buy cute cotton ones super cheap at Target.

I am a true-blue Hanky Panky thong fan. In fact, I get excited when the new colors come out each season - and save my pennies so that I can have one in each color. I have never felt any discomfort in them - ever - and I can't imagine wearing anything else but Hanky Pankys! (Nordstroms Rack usually has them for about $5. less than at Nordstroms.)

I swear by soma vanishing panties and I had been a thong only wearer for 20 years. I now have 10 pair of soma and will wear nothing else. They are usually buy 3 get 2 free.

I wear thongs when i have a tricky outfit don't want to worry about VPLs. I honestly don't really like underwear in general (hopefully that doesn't make me a weirdo on here.) but since it's still something we have to wear i just try to pick up the softest fabrics i can find. Then when i wear a thong i don't even feel it.

Fruitful, I laughed so hard I almost split my undies (non thong) reading those links!

Another vote for the Soma's Vanishing Edge undies. I could never get comfortable in thongs but love the Somas. I have mostly the high cut briefs. There is never a VPL. For a year or so I got by with 3 pair of Somas by hand washing and hanging them up each night. I could have probably managed with one pair. They ususally dry overnight.

I sometimes wear thongs, and I look for a thong with a wide rise (the fabric that goes up the back) and and also have wide enough fabric on the sides (like 1.5-2" wide) so that the thong stays put and doesn't wiggle into places I don't want it to be in.

In Australia we call "flip flops" thongs...good thing I read your post properly before I replied! Oh and just for the record I don't find "thongs" (g string) comfortable so I don't wear them

I try not to wear thongs but if it’s the only solution I will.

Haha, TMI indeed-but l was happy to see some old buddies in the comments---just to quickly find out:_-iit's an 8 yrs(!!) old thread!!:-)) Love when these are resurfacing from the ether with such an innocency!:-)

Interesting to read the comments from my fellow big butt buddies regarding boyshorts becoming thongs, lol. I have the same issue but, instead of thongs, I went in completely the opposite direction with slip shorts!

I've personally found my holy grail in the Uniqlo body shorts - they're fitted like shapewear but don't have an uncomfortable tummy control panel. They also come with a cotton gusset, to avoid the yeast infections & hygiene issues that others have mentioned. I know it's technically not the topic of your post, but I find it to be a more comfortable solution to VPL!

Have worn thongs for years to avoid VPL, carrying my weight in my rear. Never heard of Hanky Pankys - going to look up based on all the recommendations above!! I mainly wear GapBody, and I size up for comfort. I also tried Spanx thongs recently - they're ok, too. Barely notice.
I never, ever wear thongs to bed. Cannot stand them at night. Sleep in shorts.
