Question about Spring fashion

I was in the mall today buying my grandson shoes. (Want to know where my budget goes).
As we ran through I noticed something about the spring collections. Is this the season of bling? The shoe collections especially. Studded, glittered and jeweled. Has anyone else noticed this?

II haven't really been looking at new stuff, so haven't noticed. But I wonder if you are seeing resort collections, rather than the regular spring offerings? It would make sense that there was a bit of bling with those.

Now you come to mention it, I do see quite a few metallic and a fair bit of gold hardware too. Plus studs yes. Sharan makes a good point re resort wear though.

Firecracker is most likely correct but I can't help pointing out that spring rhymes with bling and will make for some great laughs. On The Nordstrom website under the designer shoe section there is a pair of white shoes, low heel, with large blingy crystals all around the heel and nowhere else! I tried to imagine walking in them and wondered where I would lose the first crystal?! Knowing me, I would probably scrape it off going down the staircase at home before I ever had a chance to leave in my blingy shoes! Oh well! :-). they are very pretty oxfords and I'm trying to resist.

If so I'm extremely excited. Studs, rhinestones, hardware and anything sparkly or shiny ALWAYS has a place in my wardrobe!

Although fab for some, that's a trend I will pass on. I don't do bling, and am glad I bit the bullet and bought new shoes and boots in 2014!

It is starting to look a bit like the overdone beadazzled 80's. I do bling, but on my terms. I love metallic almost anything, but with no embellishments. I love rhinestone jewelry. My bling has to be separate - I love statement necklaces , but not when they are part of the garment. I have beaded vintage sweaters, but they are not rhinestones and most are monochrome (black beads on black sweater etc..).

Some bling would be great right now with all the cold grey days, but I can't imagine wearing the shoes Staysfit describes with big crystals on the heels trying to cross an icy parking lot. Hobby Lobby "jewels" and a glue gun, any body?

I haven't noticed, yet, Debbie. I HAVE noticed that retailers are opening up with tomato red, citron, white and light blue. YAY. I'm in heaven.

That's interesting; usually it's fall and early winter that is blingy, with Christmas and all. I have seen metallic shoes stick around at all price points.
