Personally, I would rather have one piece of exquisite quality than many of mediocre quality. When I'm contemplating purchasing a pricier item of clothing, I use the cost per wear formula of original price divided by the number of times worn, which equals the real cost per wear. Light colored leather pants are gorgeous, but keeping them looking pristine could add to the real cost per wear.
