Well... It certainly seems as if we have enough ladies to start a Shop-Your-Closet/Shopping Fast Support Group. So -- when should we start? Now? Or after the New Year?

Bonnie -- Sounds like you have created a fantastic seasonal capsule with plenty of variety. Like you, I find it easier to start with the bottoms and build from there. The pants/jeans silhouettes determine what tops, toppers and footwear will be put into play. I love that you will be incorporating prints in the mix. (I really need to focus on adding more print tops to my wardrobe. I gravitate towards solids.)

Kiwigal/Sally -- I actually got my inspiration from Una's (Alaskagirl's) original post from two years ago (Five Silhouette Rotation)... and, yes, Suz had some terrific input on that same thread and in subsequent posts. Here are Una's first thoughts on this topic: http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....e-rotation Tanya also had some fairly recent fabulous posts regarding creating FFBO's from specific bottom silhouettes. I will come back later and reference those threads, as they are inspiring.

Sounds as if you are on the same page as a number of us with regard to a shopping hiatus. Like you, I am trying to avoid purchasing anything for myself until after the New Year (except things bought with Gift Cards that were birthday and Christmas presents). You are so right that the December holidays should be about time spent with friends and family, and not about consumerism. You came to some interesting conclusions about those two tops you purchased that did not work out. I am also drawn to certain fabrics... like moth to flame... and need to cautiously evaluate the whole piece before purchasing.

Style Fan -- Your travel capsule is absolutely gorgeous. I love your use of rich color and fabulous texture. Those are interesting observations regarding the local style in Montreal. Glad I did not purge my straight legs and Doc Martens.

Approprio -- Yes -- those pesky "new additions" are always stubbornly demanding attention. What it is with them??? I have that same problem with those darned "closet divas".

Smittie -- Thanks for popping in and for your supportive and wise comments.

Ack, forgot to mention it. Sterling: in case you didn't see it in the other post, you really should try Uniqlo's supima cotton tees. And while you probably did the right thing with your marriage, that's pretty much how I ended up moving to in Amsterdam with Mr Edge 20 years ago. No regrets eh?

Hi Approprio. No regrets on my part. It really was the right thing to do under the circumstances and I was always glad I thought it through. Who know where I would be today if I had let my heart lead the way.

Black Friday was madness. I spent the Holiday in Charleston. It was beyond gorgeous and I still managed to shop. Here are the items I purchased.

GAP white tee shirts. They are part of my "uniform." Opaque white tee shirts are a HEWI. I haven't tried them on. If they are boxy or too relaxed fitting, I'll return them.

Kut from the Kloth (NOT on sale). Still I thought a black pair of jeans would come in handy.

The CeCe tee shirt was an Angie recommendation. I was immediately drawn to it. When I saw it on sale, I had to order it.

Good for you, Sterling. Your shopping was smart and purposeful -- filling wardrobe holes (work appropriate tops), finally finding and buying those elusive opaque tees, and purchasing some quality basics. I love the CeCe Rose Print Flutter Sleeve Blouse. It will be a nice multi-season piece for work... but would also look fabulous with jeans.

I want to say one more time HOW MUCH I LEARN ABOUT MYSELF BY PARTICIPATING IN YLF CHALLENGES.

I have come to learn that I don't have a shopping issue. I have a weird "sales" shopping issue. Black Friday and Cyber Monday really showed me in my most negative light. I literally had to walk away from the stores/computer because I was becoming obsessed (never a good word) with finding the absolute best sales. I was on a mission.

I don't need to practice purchasing fasts. I DO NEED to make myself not shop sales.
