I was thinking about joining a cross fit gym in our neighborhood (when i have a bit more cash) but got a little scared off by the stories of people working out so hard that they vomited! I looked into it online and it sounded great. Currently, I'm a walker/runner.
I'm not able to work out for a couple of weeks because I injured my back sitting at a desk! I wasn't used to sitting for long periods of time and my desk was not set up correctly for me. pretty amazing huh? Now I'm in the process of getting an ergonomic evaluation - and trying to spend more time walking around during the day! I'm also trying to work from home a bit more so that I'm not always at the same desk.
I joined a gym over 2 years ago (I had quit smoking & started to gain of weight). Wasn't sure I'd actually use my membership, but from the first day, I fell in love with working out! My usual schedule is 6 days a week cardio and 2 or 3 days I do weights too.
My neighbor also burned a copy of PX90 for me - I've only gone thru 2 of the DVD workouts, but so far I really like this too. Good to do at home when I can't get to the gym.
I used to work out 5x a week or so, alternating some sort of cardio and weights. I've also done a lot of yoga and outdoor activities like mountaineering, canyoneering, and climbing. Lately I haven't been working out, but I walk at least 5 miles a day. I'm hoping to start something a little more challenging soon. I've also tried Jillian Michael's dvds and enjoyed those.
I have been doing hot yoga for about a year but been in a slump for awhile because of happenings in life. I need to get back to it. It would be so nice if I didn't have to drive 20 minutes to get to the yoga center. To me it seems very important to have the workout facility be close to home.
My husband and I do walk the dog everyday which is good for all of us.
I've never heard of the crossfit before today. It sounds interesting.
