I'm going to have to go with Burgundy although orange (veering more coral) has always been one of my favs. After having my colours done (officially) I am finally at peace with having cool colouring. It won't stop me from sneaking in some hits of orange now and again.... Having said that, burgundy has been one of my fav colours since the 80s
Burgandy for sure. I love seeing orange on others but it makes me look like I am in the throes of some awful skin condition and does nothing for my silver hair.
I'm definitely on Team Burgundy. If I wear orange, people ask me all day long if I'm ill. Orange, peach, rust, pumpkin, coral - all the flavors of orange are bad for me.
I just remembered that the heroine of a lovely little fantasy book (The Girl Who Circumnavigated Fairyland in a Ship of Her Own Making) is firmly on Team Orange. Here's the passage, a gift to all of you orange lovers:
September smoothed the lap of her now-wrinkled and rumpled orange dress. She liked anything orange: leaves; some moons; marigolds; chrysanthemums; cheese; pumpkin, both in pie and out; orange juice; marnalade. Orange is bright and demanding. You can't ignore orange things.
I love orange, it's my favorite color, and thankfully looks good on me! Bright orange, tangerine, melon, coral and even deep coral in my closet. I have a great tangerine Tippi sweater from J Crew that keeps me smiling in the winter. Umm, my car is orange too! Happy, happy color dance
No contest, team orange. I own one reddy burgundy scarf, and several orange/coral items. I do not suit cool burgundies very well at all, and I feel great in orange.
My living room is mostly off white with wood, with brick and orange accents. Strangely enough I like them together for furnishings.
Orange all the way! I had to wear a uniform in middle and high school. We had burgundy ties and sweater/sweater vests. I've had enough of the color. I still can't wear burgundy.
Team Orange - even though I don't own anything in this color, and I do own two leather pieces in burgundy. There is something so happy about the color of the actual fruit. I grew up in Florida, perhaps that's why.
E, I love that passage, thank you for including it! I am going to look up this book
Burgundy -- I've loved this hue since I was a child. Despite my love for high contrast color, orange is tragic on me! I can enjoy it thoroughly on others!
I'm another "love Burgundy, can't wear Orange" person, but I'm fortunate enough to have a son who looks incredible in Orange so I can enjoy it vicariously.
