You made the right decision. Nice shoe collection. : )

I wear them and if no one is wearing them then you can be the one that starts the trend back up, notice how they are bringing up all the old styles that use to be out, I dont believe pointy toe boots could go out of style.

Yes, definitely, you're making the right choices. Anything that looks like a kitten heel is definitely in - the mules are not in, at least any longer.

I am actually starting to look for some slightly pointier shoes now because I think they elongate my small frame. I think the extremely long exaggerated toes from about 5 years ago are out, but pointy toes definitely add some interest to the right outfit.

good choices...though i think i would hold onto 7/8 for another season.

i heart 3/4. if you ever need more room in your shoe closet, i'll give them a good home. promise. i'll even give you visitation rights or shared custody!

Ok, here it is Dec of 2013 and pointy toe shoes are back on the runway. Was trying to figure out if my old shoes would appear dated, but they are exactly what's being shown now yay!

I don't know if pointy toes are ever really out-out. You have a fabulous shoe collection. Keep as many as you can comfortably store!

I always like point heels because I think it's a classic style and will always come back. I'm not a fan of pointy boots but that's just me.

Wow, this is an OLD thread revived, but interesting to look back. I'm glad to see pointy toes making a comeback. I still have the Reed Evins (tucked away in storage -- they are rather extreme in their pointiness!) and the purple booties, and I think the purple booties will come out to play this winter. I wish I'd kept the silver pumps.

Not sure if pointy shoes were 'out' 2 years ago but they're certainly not now! I have so many pointy heels, boots and flats I'm not sure what I'd do without them!

I personally don't get rid of any shoes that are kind to my fussy feet. Everything eventually comes back in style anyway.

I was confused on the timing myself--I was wondering why pointy-toes were not "in"

It is a good discussion of how pointy and other features that might make one pair work and another not.

Still it drives me crazy that just a tweak of a style difference may send a shoe to the graveyard. I can't tell if that means, just buy one or 2 pairs of shoes per year, or stay in the middle (almond toe) or both, or just toss in the towel!

I have 2 pairs of Clarks short boots with squarish toes. Last year I could tolerate that but this year I don't want to wear them, as the prevalence of pointy styles makes the square look more square. My almond-toed boots manage to bridge the style gap but the squarish ones stick out. It's my choice, made after wearing them some and just finding, no love there.

So now I'm trying to decide--keep because they may "come back," or just toss because it could be several years and then--they wiil be not the right kind of square, right heel, all that.

I only even noodle on it because a squarish toe box can be more comfortable than sharply tapered styles, and so I'm much more likely to embrace what's trending when it provides some other benefit like foot comfort, which for me, pointy-toes do not.

It does seem like everything comes back!

but . . . sometimes things come back just a bit differently. I've decided if I love a shoe, I will keep it despite the trend on hand. But I'm talking a 10. Otherwise, I'm likely to just do what Unfrumped mentioned, and just get 1 or 2 of a trend, so I'm not saturated with it if the style changes, or I change my mind about it. Glad I only had 2 round toe ballet flats for instance - purged 1 and am about to update with 1 pointy toe flat this year. That would round out my flats to be one round, one pointy, and one peep toe. Works for me!

Yes, I have embraced my old, but current-looking pointy toes, however, only those that are truly a 10. I think that is great advice since I still really love them and hoped they would become trendy once again. Now I see why we women can own so many shoes...they can all live in constant rotation waiting for the pendulum to swing their way again!

How fun to see this thread revived now that pointy toes are everywhere. I have a hard time letting go of old shoes that are very comfortable but have to think about how that actually applies to what I actually wear.

The Calvin Klein party shoes Angie purchased in gold (that I just bought) are very pointy toed!

Read Angie's blog post for today! Dec. 13th. See all the pointy toed shoes? Angie bought the gold ones and so did I. They are lovely and she's right-roomy toe box. On point, in style, rock it!

Hi janet ive been looking to This trend and Yes it seems they are back and it looks very nice i Hope you see What i posted also. Greetings

Heh. Hilarious to see this four-year-old thread bumped up yet again.

And I'm still waiting for you to send those purple croc boots to me...

I have to be careful about checking post dates, Mary. I did think a couple of Janet's shoes looked dated.

I definitely see toes getting pointier--they look better with fuller pants. My feet have gotten longer though, and some of them definitely look wicked witch of the west on my feet. My feet have gradually taken on the pointy toed shape anyway, but they aren't so comfortable in these.

Funny. I didn't notice the date and was reading it through thinking, "Pointed toes shoes are in all of the stores here in Oz....how strange that they're not elsewhere." lol

Really, really old thread. I've put away the Pliners and everything else has been long, long gone.

However, my more recent boot purchases have been pointed toes. Lower heels and gentler points, though. My style definitely changed.
