Uh, JAileen - that’s fascinating. I did not ever once consider that a/c has limits like that. It’s always been just too cold for me. But of course it does. And that’s just… terrible! At 120, you’re talking 100! Or a brown out. Ohmigosh.

Sending love and cool thoughts PNW friends ... Stay safe and take care! Xoxo

Those are some crazy temps anywhere, let alone in a region that isn't prepared for it! Glad it seems to be relenting, at least for now.

last night was glorious in the cool 70s at midnight. such a relief!

we don't have AC, but luckily have a very cool daylight basement.

Pretty much tried to do as little as possible--picked raspberries and did some garden work super early in the am...and then sat watching movies the rest of the day and night downstairs. Really felt more like Arizona or Death Valley

I’m late to this but please send positive thoughts to my sister who is in the east fire in Kamloops. She was evacuated once but is back in her home. The fire continues to be held and they have brought in special protection units. Water bombers are using water and fire retardant to spray housing perimeters.

Oh Glory, I’m sending good vibes. It’s distressing to hear of these fires, and I really hope your sister is out of harm’s way.

I have nice memories of Kamloops, as we stopped for a night there while on our honeymoon 18 years ago — on Canada Day — and the hotel gave us the “presidential suite” because we were on honeymoon. We had a lovely view of fireworks that night.
