Most of my pins are ones I've loaded onto Pinterest using the pin marklet. When I first started I actually uploaded some of my own photos too. The pins suggested for me by Pinterest are actually better than a lot of pins I see on the community "Street Style" type boards I subscribe to (now only one).

But the only way I can figure out how to shut down the suggested pins is to report them. I'm thinking it's easier to just ignore them. I don't get that many of them anyway.

Many of my pins are from retailer sites, Shopbop, Barneys. And no one re-pins those. However they are useful to me for outfit creation. People seem to respond much more to real street style photography than catalog-style photography when it comes to pins.

Yes I've done everything that has been suggested (including contacting them). The rubbish keeps coming so I've stopped pinning

I am quite confused, Caro and Denise as to why you keep getting lots of extra pins. I only see 'Related Pins' when I click on a pin off my Home feed to enlarge it for a better look and the RP's appear in a block at the bottom, they are not on my main Home feed. The 'Picked For You' pins appeared for me this week and it was very straightforward to remove them and they are now gone. Are you getting pins with neither Related or Picked for you on them? My home Feed is still just of pins from those that I 'follow'.

I'm wondering if your extra pins are related to tracking via Gmail, Google or Facebook, or Twitter etc. Are you sure you have prevented tracking via the Account Settings options?

I never get any "picked for you" or related pins at all. I must have had my settings on lockdown this whole time? I do sometimes have to eliminate boards that I have chosen to follow based on the pinner posting things I don't care about or spamming the place. I clean it up every month or so.
I never really go into the general categories to look either.

Yes I have prevented tracking etc. Diane G still getting pins from individual people I'm not following - not as "picked for you". At first there were just a few so I went to their page & followed them & un-followed them, which fixed it, but now there are so many I can't keep doing that.

They're changing, a lot

Like I said up thread, they're monetizing it.

I get it Anna - & don't have a problem with them making money. I do have a problem with how they have done it. I'd be happy to give them money & not have the rubbish.
