Here's our rescued husky-greyhound pup, Kona, waiting patiently for me to stop taking photos this morning. She has spruce sap all over her right now (don't ask).

We also have two cats, Riley, a 17 year old brown and black tabby, and Sera, a Russian blue. All our pets have been rescued from the pound... I can't go by there without picking up another animal!

AG, what a gorgeous dog!

I love "pointy" dogs - pointy ears, pointy faces, streamlined bodies...

Currently I only have 3 dogs (I've had as many as 6 at one time)

First is Brenna, aka Am/Can/Int'l Ch Saorsa Brenna of Eire. She's an awesome little girl with a ridiculous amount of personality. We say she is half street fighter, half debutant. She'll be 13yo in December (Pic one is recent, pic 2 is my fave show photo)

Booboo is Bren's littermate. Boo is the most easy going, easy to live with dog. She's smart, sweet and I cannot think of one naughty thing she has ever done. She rules the roost.

And then there's Zepar. NERD! He'll be 6yo next month. He's huge for the breed (Basenji, like all of my dogs) but the biggest dork on the planet and such a wussie boy. I've shown him but he didn't like it so he's done some racing instead and is quite good at that.

All three dogs sleep in bed with DH and I and I wouldn't have it any other way. We'll be introducing another dog soon and we're looking forward to it!

RandomThought, I thought MY dog had the biggest ETH (ear to head) ratio! Those guys are so adorable. I like pointy dogs too, especially dogs that look like wild animals (foxes, wolves, or in Kona's case, a deer).

If you want to see EARS I will find a picture of my old Ibizan Hound girl. She was all ears, and some nose. Oh, and legs.

So I had to add a follow-up post because I am feeling like the WORST parent ever. About once every year or so, I get my kitty (see earlier post for him, resplendent on my dining room table) groomed just to help manage the shedding. They shave his belly and trim the sides (but leave his cute ruff and tail untouched). You can see where this is going, right? Took him in on Saturday over vehement objections of my boyfriend and, well, there was a mishap. This is what he looks like now. He is just radiating misery and humiliation. I feel so badly! To add insult to injury, our other kitty hissed at him when he came home and poor Obe has been slinking around the house, totally dejected. I hate myself for doing this to him!

Poor kitty! My BF always threatens to 'bigglesworth' the cat(s) when shedding gets bad in summer. Not if I can help it! Luckily, like bad haircuts we get, it will grow out! (Love your kitchen, by the way)

Thanks Mo. My BF was out of town so I felt compelled to warn him that he was coming home to Mr. Bigglesworth. It's the fact that HE seems so sad and embarassed that makes me just sick about it. Not much to do at this point though...

I'm late to this thread because I was away this weekend and didn't have access to photos of the most glamorous girl in the house: Sarah. She's fifteen now and slowing down, but still beautiful.

Sweet Sarah! She is so beautiful. I miss that little smushy girl. Great thread! Here is my crew....
Lucy (dappled mini dachshund boss, aka Lucifer, Lucius Malfoy...you get the picture)
Mabel (sweet lab)
Brian Setzer (the most non-cat cat I have ever met)

PS: #2 is a rare loving moment between Brian and Lucy
#5 is Lucy in her puppy days

Aww this thread is too cute!!!

The first photo is of one of our dogs, Fred, and my younger sister, Heather. Fred was found wandering the village near my parents' farm and was taken in by a barman in the pub my dad frequents. My dad fell in love with Fred, as he did with all our other rescue dogs, and brought him home to my sister. Heather has Fred spoiled rotten but he is an adorable, energetic dog. His favourite game is being chased around a field for a tennis ball as he doesn't quite get the concept of fetch.

The second dog is Black, the very original name given to her by the same barman who also rescued Fred. She is a Labrador/ Sheep Dog cross, and is the friendliest dog ever. Sadly, she's nearly twelve years old and starting to show her age but she still loves soccer.

I am bumping this as a companion thread to the more recent one started by Deb.
