My daughter--"why do they call it a helmet--there's no mit!"

Fashionista reminded me --we once live in a small 20's style winterized cottage one winter. I was at the table reading the paper and the dog was sleeping on the floor between me and the stove. he was flat out on his tummy as dogs do--our beautiful little Bichon Finnegan. I caught a small movement out of the corner of my eye near the bottom of the stove and I guess Finny did too coz he launched him self straight up in the air abour a foot off the ground from a completely flat belly lay to land on his feet!--he got air and I started laughing so hard--tears streamed down my face it was so fantastic and weird to see him react like this no doubt to the unexpected mouse that came in from the cold. About then my husband came in and started laughing to--he missed the dog but wanted to know why I was standing on the kitchen chair. I didn't realize I had the same reaction as the dog!

Jenava reminded me:
Telemarketer: Do you have ducts?
Me: No sir. We have no ducks, horses, chickens or cattle. Thank you for calling.

Hope you have a lighter heart today IK!!

Makes me laugh every time!

My little sister was forever stripping every chance she got and running around the house naked when she was a child (I'm thinking 3 or 4 years old, here). One time she went outside after a bath wearing nothing but a towel. I came outside a few minutes later to find her standing on the towel, which was spread out on the sidewalk, dancing around naked at the behest of some of the neighborhood boys who were beside themselves with laughter.

And OMG, those Weight Watchers cards! I'd forgotten about them. I came across that website years ago while I was working in the computer lab at university. I made a lot of very strange sounds trying not to start howling while other people were trying to do serious work. Around the same time I also came across the Brunching Shuttlecocks, now sadly defunct, but the archives are still online. I particularly remember this episode:

Along the lines of Patty's story, this leaping lamb had my son and me in stitches:

(I love the jokes at that age...)

Here's a funny photo from my Marine, who is stationed in Japan! He says he thinks of it every time he leaves the base!

1: A note we dug out of our family archives, which I wrote while running away. I believe I was about 6:
"Dear family,
It's time I had some vacation.
So I'll just find another place to live for a while.
Sighned,
Kari"

3: An actual story:
A very long time ago, my parents were at a neighborhood party. It was a newly built neighborhood where everyone had just moved in, so no one really knew each other well. The hosts broke out a game of Charades. One of the male guests was up, and he started drawing what looked like male genatalia, and then a drawing of a rock... or perhaps it was a potato. Everyone looked around totally baffled. Then my dad shouted, "DICTATOR!"
They've been friends ever since. My dad refers to it as the litmus test of getting to know one another.

Perhaps the wine purse that Christieanne mentioned could make an appearance next April 1, along with the wine rack and beer belly.

How about....some cute kitty pictures!
