How frightening! I am so glad to hear that you are (considering the situation) OK. Just please pretty please make sure you are really aware of any "unusual" symptoms. Hopefully all is going to be alright but still...
Oh my goodness Dawn, how utterly terrifying and painful!
I am so glad that your injuries are not as bad as what they first thought and hope that you make a very quick recovery. Please keep us posted as to how you are going. x
Oh Dawn, how awful! It sounds like a terrifying experience, but what a relief that you personally didn't come to any serious harm! Rest up and take good care of yourself (better yet, get Alan to pitch in).
*hugs!!* Hope you heel fast!
What a frightening experience. Dawn, take care of yourself and take it easy! And yes, do pay attention to how you're feeling. I'm so glad you're alright, and I'm wishing you a fast recovery.
Thank you all so much. I couldn't stop crying this morning after reading this thread. My knee is starting to get better but more bruises started appearing today.
Hopefully I'll be able to get back on a bike soon as I'm missing my daily exercise routine, but I'm also quite nervous about it.
Really hope you have a quick, uneventful recovery Dawn. I know getting back on that bike will take guts (but I have a feeling you have plenty of guts). Just be careful and take care of yourself...lots of positive vibes coming your way...
That is scary. Sorry to hear that you had to go through this. Bike accidents leave us feeling vulnerable on the road. Hope you're feeling better today. Get well soon.
Oh Dawn how scary!! Please let your friends pamper you. It will probably be scary to get back on your bike, but take your time...you have a lot of inner strength that will see you through this. Please keep us posted on how you are doing.
I'm feeling much better now. The rest of my body has stopped hurting apart from my knee and the bump on my head has gone down a bit. Alan is actually a fantastic nurse and my friends have dropped over games, books and movies to take my mind off having to be immobile for a week.
Oh, Dawn, what a terrible thing to happen to you! I'm so glad it there weren't any fractures and hope all your healing goes well. . .Take this week to really let your body rest along with your knee. I hope your be "back in the saddle" soon enough
Dawn, what a painful and frightening experience. And you love cycling so, don't let it discourage you about that. I could see your positive spirit even in your first post. Like a true fashionista you described your outfit before you told us about the accident.
(((hugs))) Dawn. Hope you are taking good care of yourself. Very glad you have such supportive and caring friends. Hope you recover soon and get back on that bike
Dawn, those things are so traumatic! Glad to hear you are ok, and that you have a good support system to help you heal. No worries about exercise now. Please let your body (and spirit) have a good rest.
It seems like most avid cyclists...and skateboarders too....have one war story like this, don't they? Yay for safety gear... and that yours is behind you now.
