How exciting! There will be many benefits for your son too. Wishing a happy move for all of you.

Das ist ja toll!

Such exciting times ahead, Ornella, complete with butterflies and busy-ness.

I'm sure your little guy will be more excited with all the novelty than you are, even if there are moments of homesickness. And it sounds like the move comes at a very serendipitous point in your lives, so brace yourselves and enjoy the ride!

Life changes for the better are awesome. Congratulations and I hope you have an amazing time there! Time to make new adventures!

Just wanted to wish you all the best for this life-changing move that you're about to make.

And while I don't know if it helps, I've also made some major moves in my life, and I travel a whole lot more than I ever expected to. As a result, I know a little bit about what it feels like to be uprooted, and to feel slightly 'homeless' at times. That said though, I've since come to realize that feeling 'at home' is more about me, and how I respond to wherever I happen to be. As long as I have my husband, my family - and my favourite tea and favourite pillow, I can handle anything

So very exciting Ornella!!!

Sending along my very best wishes for a wonderful and inspirational experience.

PS - editing to add: It takes a whole lot of courage to do something like this and most people don't do these things. It's awe-inspiring!

Congrats to Mr. O on his new job! What an exciting experience you have in front of you, Ornella. Krishnidoux gave you good advice re looking for work once you move. My husband and I lived in Belgium for a year (was supposed to be longer, but the paper decided to move its editorial staff stateside, leaving only production facilities in Brussels) some years ago, and it made a huge difference to my quality of life in a new place being able to work.

Wishing you all the best in this new adventure, Ornella! Looking forward to a YLF does Germany!

Wow, Ornella - what an amazing opportunity you have, I'm incredibly envious. I'll be looking forward to hearing of your experiences once you make the big move!

ornella!!! how exciting. what an adventure. and such fun to share with a child.

you clever girl will be rocking those motg outfits with your usual panache. i can't wait to *hear* about the next phase of your journey, sartorial or otherwise.

I hope all goe's well for you and your lovely family.

Don't forget we are here for back up if you need us

Oh wow, Ornella, how exiting! I look forward to another YLF Germany get-together then - I'd love to meet you. If you want you can practice your German language skills on me, I'd be happy to help you out if you need a quick translation for something too.

I wish you and your family all the best for your big adventure!

(Where in Germany are you going to be?)

It sounds like a wonderful adventure! All the best to you and your family in making your new home in what I hear is a lovely country!

Ach du Lieber! Big excitement! Best of luck to you and your family in this exiting transition!

Thank you, again... it is a special feeling to be at the receiving end of such collective wisdom and well wishes.

@taylor, I'll remember and quote your words many times: the biggest changes reap the biggest rewards. Beautifully said and so timely.

@chouette, I have finally allowed myself to start feeling excited, after months of holding things in in anticipation of the various outcomes. I do hope I won't struggle too much with declinations - at least the concept itself is familiar from my mother tongue.

@DonnaF, I had to laugh! yes, I do count with the clothes being a bit longer.

@Sveta, thanks for sharing your experience. Your family certainly was brave to make such a decision with two children, wow. You remember well, the time that opens up in front of me will be used for some self-exploration, although I have a pretty good idea what possibilities I'll be looking into.

@velvetychocolate, so true - home is where heart is, and mine is wherever my two men are. Good tip though - I need to stock up on my favorite tea

@Scarlet, Astrid, YLF does Germany We'll be moving to the south of the country (more details in the email).

We've started telling friends and it's more real to me by each conversation I have with them...

Congratulations! That is FAB!

German design, man, German design! Can I give you my shopping list now? LOL

Congratulations and good luck. Enjoy this big life experience.

How very exciting (and I understand the stress of making such a big decision and finally jumping in) and so much to look forward to.

I have a friend who lives in Germany (Rammstein Air Base - spelling may be wrong) and she loves taking her two school age kids on trips all over and feels she can hop a train and be in all parts Europe fairly easily.

Looking forward to your thoughts and maybe some pictures later on.

Sehr toll! Congrats on relocating abroad! (ha-you cracked me up QM:-)))
Ornella, wish y'all good luck! (Frankfurt, Münich, Stuttgart, Ulm?:-))
Tschüss!
