Oh, thanks, Isabel. We waited till the kids came home from school Friday to tell them; unfortunately we rather have a routine now for this. I am so glad we did that again. DD was very upset and cried at the news. The twins are still a bit young to process death but they have talked about their sadness that their grandfather can't come to visit anymore. But giving us some much needed comic relief, they have been discussing ways to visit him up in heaven for a bit "and then come back down."

Children can certainly add some levity. It is so touching that they are planning how they can go to him now instead of vice versa.

( Being an immigrant ) I think that there are a host of very guilty and confusing feelings about not being around those you love in a time like this. Though nowadays we are all so mobile that not many of us have the privilege of being around those we love.

I wish you all some sort of peace. I am also very sorry to hear of your father's passing.

So very sorry and sending healing thoughts. My FIL also passed suddenly and unexpectedly. Although it was a terrible shock, his family felt some peace in knowing it was how he wanted to go. Not much consolation to you now, but perhaps someday.
