I did talk with my mother yesterday and the funeral is going to be at the end of next week. Next Tuesday my mother is coming to Berlin because of her work and I will be taking the train home together with her on Wednesday. I was able to take some free time, so I can stay at home for a few days after the funeral.

I am so sorry to hear ahout your grandmother. It's so hard to lose a close family member. I lost my maternal grandmother in 2001. She had lived with my parents for a number of years and we were all very close. I lost my father the following year. I don't think I will ever have a day when I don't think of them and miss them. Work was a great help for me because having a job to do somehow helped me get through the initial loss. You and your family will help each other deal with the grief that must be experienced and shared following such a deep loss. I am sending you a really big hug right now.

I was about your age when I lost my favorite grandmother and it was very hard. It was almost 20 years ago but I still miss her and think about her. I hope you can be with your family soon because it is much easier to handle the pain when you are not alone.
