opinions on this watch?

after the last thread on timepieces, i am jonesing for a watch -- something distinctively me, but still classic enough to take me through the next few years, with some care!

with that in mind, could you see me with this baby on my wrist?

Do you wear gold, hanna? I can absolutely see this baby on your wrist. Will not date if you love studs.

angie, i've warmed up to gold in recent months; it goes well with the rich, warm tones i tend to sport! and i have no qualms about mixing metals either.

for some reason i have been wanting to add more of a rocker edge to my wardrobe and have been slowly adding touches of studs, zippers and industrial hardware to my clothing and accessories.

i did get your email and meant to reply; thank you so much!! i didn't expect you to link to my entry from your post; it was hugely flattering :):) i was just shocked we'd both decided to write about the same thing. great minds, eh?

That was a great post, hanna. It’s uncanny that we both thought to write about the same thing a day apart. Hah!

I have had a rocker edge to my look for more than 20 years. There have always been “punk inspired pieces” in my wardrobe, regardless of the fashions. Perhaps I was a punk in another life? It’s part of my look – just like pretty pearls and mod looks are part of my look. But I love mixing these punk pieces with feminine things.

So, my question is, if you love the punk look regardless of the fashions, the piece won’t date. Does that make sense?

I love the classic face against the edgy strap. I think what Angie has stated is very important. Do you think your new found love of studs and zips is a seasonal fling or a serious commitment?

niva, i've looked, but their styles don't appeal to me as much as the one i linked to! they are either too ornate or too plain. i love the grey color and the studs on this one, but those chains would annoy me!

the more i look at it, the more i wonder about those pyramid studs. i looked around and found this one:

it's still got enough visual interest to be a statement, but i don't know...i'm still really drawn to those pyramid studs.. any thoughts? which goes better with MY style?

I love the MOMA store and they have this little wrap watch - the red is very cute - but no studs. Anyway it's another option!
