My salesperson recommended this dress for me for festive dress champagne tasting I'm doing in December.
She said it was very Dries Van Noten.
I really like it. What do you think? I'd have to order it though as they don't have in store.

I would probably have to wear that as a shirt, if it was long-torsoed me, but I love the detailing. Festive, for sure.

I like the simple cut and fun ornamentation. Sparkly mod? I'd be concerned about the length though -- sit down test for sure. But you have the legs to pull it off.

The dress is so lovely in its simplicity. It would probably be a nice addition to your dressy/opera capsule. However, the length looks like it could be a concern. Agree with cciele -- you should do "sit down" and "bending" tests in front of a mirror before you purchase.

I love the dress and the detailing. My concerns also would be the length and the warmth factor. However if the length works and you are going somewhere that is toasty then I think go for it, very cute.

Anna - I can absolutely see this on you playing it against type with black tights, black "I am going to stomp on your face" high heeled boots, black moto, black clutch and a red lip. Don't know if that was your conception but I think it would be smashing!! or switching it all up with gold and all soft. I think you would carry this off with panache!

It's cute. The thing that gives me pause is sleeveless in December -- I don't understand why holiday wear defaults to sleeveless.

It's nice, but I agree, don't you have all sorts of lovely dresses in your opera capsule? Or do you only like to wear those once or twice before replacing them?

Agree with other posters--it would look smashing on you, and carefully consider length.

Champagne tasting sounds fun. You do lots of cool social activities!

My opera dresses don't have any sparkle or embellishment. They're not party dresses, much more sedate,
I have a sleeved sequin shirt from Vince, and a sequin mini skirt from All Saints. I guess I could try to remix those.
The cream really appeals to me though.

I love it! I'd wear it with shimmery pale tights, and channel a little sexy 60's, and some gorgeous fake eyelashes.

If it's really short when you sit, cross your ankles, and keep your knees together

I like the dress. It has a lot of style, but two things concern me. First is the length. You have awesome legs to pull it off with, but Seattle is not warm in December. Also, I think it would need a warm pashima or something else to keep warm. I agree with the others, why sleeveless in December?!? I mean, not all of us live in SoCal or Florida!

As a seperate aside, do you need sparkly wear? Basically, would you wear this again, perhaps for New Year's or other Christmas festivities? it does not fit into your Opera capsule, and I wonder where else it would work for you.

Perhaps you could add a sparkly scarf of tank to one of your already fab ensembles to get the holiday sparkle but still have wearablity again.

You definitely have the legs to pull this off, plus it will probably be longer on you than on the model. I like the idea of pairing it with black tights. Maybe even a tough black leather jacket for warmth. That might take too much focus off the dress but I think it could look really fun! Can't wait to see how you style it if you get it.

I just had an idea! What if I wore my blue & black feather headdress with leather leggings & a tuxedo jacket? And maybe my new shoes.

For the magpie in me, maybe a sparkly top under the tuxedo jacket that would peek out? But that might compete too much with the headress, which really deserves center stage.
