I bought this metallic ribbed chocolate bronze top and skirt from Old Navy, the same time I bought the printed blouse.

The colors is SENSATIONAL! It is my favorite color metallic brown ever. I’ve never ever found it in retail, so I was bowled over when it arrived and I saw it in real life.
It’s meant to fit body con which I typically avoid. But I’m intrigued after trying it on. I’m wearing spanx with it. I don’t have tights at present; I’m sure those will help a lot with leg line. I also
Don’t have a slip right now; I think I need one with this! I can see rolls and lines peeping through the fabric.
I forgot to try these on with my 70s knee-high butterscotch boots, which would probably be terrific with the outfit. However, my goal is more sensual eclectic or relaxed retro boho, rather than 70s bombshell glam. So for church yes. For everyday MOTG, no.
I like it best with my kimono - which surprised me! I like it the plum blouse and wrap blouse. Maybe least with the orange print blouse? The round neckline paired with a midi skirt length makes me feel kind of frumpy; it needs a little edge or something.
What do you think?
Is the skirt too tight?? I ordered the skirt in next size up but it hasn’t arrived yet.
Is the top a good fit? It doesn’t feel the slightest bit snug anywhere. I ordered up a size to try. Last photo is the top in next larger size. I feel the next size larger is *too big* especially for the intended fit. It feels like I’m swimming in my older sister clothes. But tell me what you all see and think.
I forgot to pair the skirt with my copper orange sweater. I think they will look smashing together!
Only concern is I don’t feel the skirt will hold up to hard, everyday mommy abuse and wear. I can see it getting snagged and ripped to high heaven. and yet…I don’t know if I can send it back. I love the super high waist! The fabric is more substantial than I expexted. I can see replicating this skirt’s lines (sewing or retail) and being very happy in the future!
