opininons on my thrift shop loot

went thrift shopping today...lovely relaxing thing for my son and I to do together ..he looked for christmas decorations while I looked at clothes.

1. top and skirt. top was $6 and skirt was $5. I tried on heaps of skirts but wasn't keen on the flowing styles and this seemed a good one for me to wear with my shirts that are too short for my jeans. Like the style of the top but not sure about the tie.

2. Top ($3 -it was half price...)it looks awful on the hanger but I like the way it hangs and I like that it is long enough to wear with jeans.

3 coat $6. It needs a good dry clean and press ...it has animal hairs on it. I tried on a size I would dismiss as too small. but recently after joining YLF I have had a lightbulb moment.....fitting clothes often look better than baggy clothes.

WTG!! Picking up those bargains. My fav is the white shirt... yep the cheapest of the bunch. I agree with the tie on the first shirt, but I'm unsure how to fix it, maybe remove it altogether? Bargain jacket too... some sticky tape will get the pet hair off and a little trip to the dry cleaners and it's good to go. Not sure what I actually pay the dry cleaners for when I get my jacket dry cleaned. What fabric is it?

If you are keeping to a really strict budget, maybe you could do a home dry clean of your new jacket?
I posted this site on another post too. But yeah, I'll give it a go on my coat for next winter if I can find some

Its not really a budget thing....just like the thrill of the hunt for a bargain. I can't afford high end stuff -unless its a one off and I don't like shopping in chain stores much even though they are great for bargains. There are some really good thrift shops in my city....rich areas where people throw away nice stuff.
This is polyester/wool mix. It is summer here..no way I would wear a coat now so I have plenty of time before winter starts to get it dry cleaned but thanks for the information.

Are you a Aussi too?
I'd be cleaning it before storing it away.

These are all great finds! The only thing I'm not sure of is the color on top #1. It needs a bright pink scarf or something near you face. I don't mind the tie. The pencil skirt and the white top are flattering, and the coat fits you very well!
