Tracy, it no longer goes down to the $29.00. I did order before hand. I hope they honor the price... Ummm, could it have been an error?

Hmm, has anyone who ordered this had it ship yet? It looks like both of my orders (I ordered one for a friend as well) may have been cancelled as the charges disappeared from my credit card statement with no explanation. (They were pending for the last couple of days, now they are gone and my card was never charged).

I apologize in advance if it turns out that I've sent you all on a wild goose chase!

My order says it is still processing. I still have the hold on my card but companies usually do not charge until they ship.

Well, I finally got an email response from Spiegel saying that they would NOT offer a price adjustment for me, because "that promotion was a one-day only promotion" and "once the time limit has expired, we do not have the ability to adjust orders or prices."

So... it looks like the $29 price was actually a promo and not an error? Don't know what their problem is, but I sure won't be ordering from them again. I DO really like the jacket, it turns out! But I don't want to support this kind of service. They sent me a 20% coupon code (cannot be combined with any other promo on the site) for recommending the jacket to my friends. Let me know if any of you would like to use it... :T

Bleah. I did not make an account when I placed my order so I don't think I can check my order status. I guess I will email them and hope for a response. Their CS really leaves something to be desired.

ETA: OK, I figured out how to check my order status. It still says they're "processing." We shall see.

They did sent me a shipping confirmation 5 days ago but as of yet, UPS does not recognize the tracking number??

The tracking number may be for FedEx. Mine was, anyway.

Parsley - thanks, you're correct. The confirmation said UPS but it is Fedex.

The price is way higher now. They must have found this thread and decided they could get more for the jacket LOL!

Guess I was just being paranoid and impatient because I just got my shipping confirmation and the tracking numbers sAy they are on the way. So looks like they are honoring the price. Hooray!

Even though I emailed them several times about my original order (the ~$60 one), they shipped it, it looks like it will arrive early next week.

They also shipped my new order at the rock-bottom price. Don't know the arrival date yet.

So I will have 2 size 6 jackets. I can get one refunded through AmEx because of my problem contacting Spiegel, but I could sell it if anyone's interested, or I could turn one into a vest. I wish I had a relative or friend in my size...

I wonder why Spiegel is in business, they never answered the emails I sent. Unbelievable. Don't think I'll shop there again.

Thank you for your reply. Just to offer my feedback, I do think it is unfair since I did contact Spiegel on the same day that the $29 promotion was running. As you have only an online operation and provide only an email address for customer service contact, it does make it seem as though Spiegel purposely did not reply to me in a timely manner so that you could not do the price adjustment. Again, this is just from the perspective of a new customer. This is the first time I have ordered from your company and, although the product was nice, I will not be ordering from Spiegel again due to what I perceive to be very dishonest customer service.

It's back down to $53. I wouldn't be surprised if it went down to $29 again, if anyone's still interested knowing that they're not great to deal with.

I just got a shipping confirmation. I was honestly not hopeful. I would say this is not the best online customer service. I used to shop Spiegel in the 80's a lot but have not since then. They have a lot to work on.

Didn't they used to have physical stores? I swear the outlet mall near me used to have a Spiegel store.

I got a confirmation the day after I ordered which was 5 days ago. Though it has not arrived. I got two. Each was confirmed at $29 with the extra 15% ( or wqs it 20%) off. The coupon you had suggested worked. So each coat cost me $25.

Just noted that they are still reduced but to around $53.00. Watcing and waiting to see you in your fab jackets.

Jjsloane, I used to shop from the Spiegel catalog in the 80's, also. They never had a brick and mortar store, catalog only. I remember watching 'Queen for a Day' in the early 60's and all of the stuff given was from the Spiegel catalog.

Had a moment of insanity yesterday and ordered the size 6 at $53. Black is not the best color for me, but figure it will go well with my increasing number of gray hairs.

I ordered on $29 day but only just this afternoon got a tracking #. It still has yet to show where the jacket is - just a start in the shipping process.

Betti - an outlet mall near me used to have a Spiegel (Potomac Mills) in the 90's. I think I remember them carrying catalog stuff and other designer brands (I swear I bought a pair of Theory pants there but it was a long time ago...) Now it makes me wonder if they are tied with other stores (I know they are Newport News)

Just checking in for feedback on the now infamous jacket process. I ordered at the lowest price (about a week ago), got a confirmation email within 48 hours, had it pending on my credit card for several days. Today, it is no longer pending nor listed on my credit card statement. Is it shipping and about to be put through on cc? Non-existent and not coming? Being shipped to someone who paid the higher price? I see that getting a tracking number takes quite awhile. Ah, sweet mysteries of the no phone number company.

I did send an email inquiry, but wonder if anyone has had the charge disappear and re-appear. This process is strange, and now it has become even stranger.

So happy to hear in an email this morning that I am important to them and will get 10% off the next purchase...

Mine just said 'processing' for the longest time. Then, yesterday, I finally got a tracking #. No info attached with that number until last night. Now I see it's leaving NC but have no estimated shipping date.

I ordered a week ago, also just got a tracking number yesterday....and fedex shows mine also just left north carolina, but no info on expected arrival date.

Thanks for sharing your experiences. It may be too soon to give up hope. Was surprised to see it gone from credit card when it was pending for several days. Good luck!
