I see nothing wrong with cutting your own hair. Nothing at all to be ashamed about. Post a pic!

When I saw your face shape the first things I thought were: bangs of some sort, side swept, and a shorter bob, at least to the chin. I have fine hair and speaking from experience, getting a haircut more frequently seems to make it look and feel thicker (in addition to using volumizing shampoo, conditioner and mousse!) Since you have a friend that is a stylist, I would definitely start there, with pictures of styles you like, and what you are willing and not willing to do. I know you don't want hair color, but it does give some extra body to fine hair, as I found when I stopped getting color, and have since re-started. Good luck!!

I'm just about ready to give it another trim. I'll see if DH can take a pic of my finished job.
I also need to give DS his first hair cut and DD another hair cut.
I might just do all three at once! LOL.

I've often done DH's hair too. But that takes a bit of time. We might all just need a mum cut. LOL.

Seriously I don't think I could afford all four of us to get a hair cut at the same time at a salon.

I don't think it is anything at all to be ashamed about that you ended up cutting your own hair - and the fact that you liked it is great! Post some pics, OK?

Well I have cut my hair again
I really like how it turned out.
Because my kids are in child care today, I spent an hour in the bathroom.
I've whitened my teeth a little (bicarb and toothbrush!)
I've shaped my eyebrows
I've cut my hair
I've shaved my lower legs & underarms

I'm waiting for DH to come home from the hardware shop as our tap broke on our shower, then I'll get him to post a couple of pics.
Still no make up... I don't really like the stuff that much unless I'm going out. I've also got my 'I'll get dirty' clothes on as today is a housework and gardening day

I've also got another confession to make. I couldn't find volumising mouse, or mouse of any kind really for my hair. There are huge amounts of product to sort though, most of them very expensive. With two kids in tow and a very limited budget, well I by passed it. I've actually just been running my fingers through my hair with my head upside down after I apply my moisturizer to do this job. I found it works fine. I am guessing that all mouse does is really make the hair shaft thicker by adding a sticky coating anyway.
