NYDJ glitter coated skinnies

In Angie's recent post about fancy skinny jeans, I commented that I had a hard time finding any that we're long enough. She suggested that I try them anyway, so I dutifully did that today

I hope you can see the hem. Are they supposed to stop at my ankle like this, or are they supposed to be a bit longer?

Should be longer but if you get the right booties you can extend the leg line that way. Is there any seam allowance in the hem? I know with jeans this is unlikely, but just in case.

*sigh* that's what I thought.

Npm, I didn't buy the long sweater, but it's pretty fab. Its available at Nordstrom.

Suz, there's no extra hem in these I'm going to have to see if there's something similar in tall. Being an odd size is cramping my style.

I'm finding all skinnies too short this season. (Angie had the same opinion, I believe.) They are meant to hit at the ankle but I don't like the look. For example, the W&W brocade skinnies are 31" inseam, which is just barely long enough for me with no scrunch; I prefer 32" so I get some scrunch. BUT, I decided I don't really care since I pretty much only wear boots and booties in the winter. So, I guess you have to decide what kind of footwear you want to wear with these - personally, I would say fine with boots, probably fine with most booties, questionable with other types of shoes.

Thanks, Diana. That's really interesting. I was kind of hoping to wear them with patent leather loafers in addition to booties, so I will be chanting the ylf mantra of PPP when shopping.

Too short for my liking, Amy. I think if they were just 1" longer they would be passable with heels or booties.
This sounds like the story of my life - TOO! SHORT!! PANTS!!!

Oh! I was wondering why these looked so wide at your ankle, so I just had a look at the item description for these (they are the ones in the YLF store, right?) and it says the leg opening is 13" which I would call a straight leg, not a skinny. The wider opening makes the short length a lot less OK, I think, because when it's narrower it is closer to your ankle and doesn't make such an obvious horizontal line. (With a true skinny jean, I think putting a low-contrast bootie under it kind of hides where the hem ends, but with a straight leg you'll still see the horizontal line.)

Yep, they are a bit looser than skinniest and im sure you are right about that making the length even more critical.

I would highly recommend them to someone with an average inseam though. They look stunning up close and are incredibly soft and comfortable.

Totally agree with Diana's last post -- I thought they looked more like straights than skinnies too. I sympathize as I have the exact same issue. I loved that the AG coated jeans I ended up buying were actually long enough to have a little scrunch at the ankle! Most of my skinnies are best worn with booties or boots to avoid the length issue.

I'm sorry this isn't working out for you I can completely relate to wanting to be able to wear my skinnies with a non-boot at least once in a while.

Is it really so uncommon to get longer lengths in skinnies in the US these days, though? They still seem to be making them in Europe... or so it seems from tall friends who buy European brands. This is strange...
