Thank you for this loving account of a life well lived, so sweet and with the specific details so well chosen.

You had such a sunny little face at 5 and really, you look just the same now

Oh, I’m so sorry! He sounds like a wonderful dad, and those pics are rays of sunshine. Sending love and light to you and your family.

Oh I hadn’t seen this- so sorry I missed it until now. It can still be a shock even when you know they will not “get better”. I remember your post from his 80th birthday and both that pic, and the one of you at 5, are so lovely. Hugs to you and your son ( and I guess your husband too). xx

Jenni - thank you so much. My husband has known my Dad for over 20 years and so losing Dad has been tough on him too. I am thankful that my son got to know his Grandad and will remember him.

Janet - I do love that picture of me and Dad when I was a little girl because I remember him taking me to that playground often. The funny thing was growing up, I never thought of my parents as young. Yet now when I see the photos I am amazed at how young they really were.

So sorry. The end can surprise us. Thanks for sharing him us.

Bijou, So very sorry. Thank you for sharing with us.

Bijou, haven't been on this thread in a while and just seeing your news. I can't see the photos, but thank you for sharing a bit about your Dad. As we lose our parents and other loved ones one of the most important, and comforting, things is to memorialize them and let them live on through our memories and stories, I think. Our forum is certainly a place to do that.

My deepest condolences to you and your family.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss. My condolence to you.
