not keen on 3/4 sleeves

Am I alone in this? I don't mean aesthetically speaking, I just don't much like the feel of them, especially when I have longer sleeved items over the top. Also the weather window to wear them alone is pretty small - mostly too hot in summer, and in winter I want full length.

That said, I do have a few; they are hard to avoid. Sometimes I layer a longer tee underneath and that works well.

It is an annoying preference because so many tops and dress are 3/4 sleeve and they do LOOK good to me!

Sorry, but I love 3/4 sleeves because of my short arms! Regular length sleeves are always too long, and 3/4 sleeves are the only ones I don't need to turn back, roll up, scrunch up, or alter!

Yes I love them much for the same reasons as MNsara. Plus living in Queensland it rarely gets that cold that during the day in winter that I need full sleeves.

I love 3/4 sleeves, to me they are a great length and look good. They start to look better as my arms get older!

Another one who's a major, major fan of that length. I find them both comfortable and practical, and unlike you I get the most wear out of them because of their capacity to seamlessly span three Canadian seasons.

Don't worry Anne, I got your back! I am very sensitive to sleeve length. Generally, I prefer either short/sleeveless or full sleeves. All that in between stuff like 3/4 and elbow length is a bit awkward for me. I'm either roasting or freezing.

I like sleeves of all length: sleeveless, cap, short, half, 3/4, full. Although I think my least favorite are short and full. When I wear full sleeves, I'm always pushing them up.

I do like them, but I'm always fussing with them...rolling, unrolling, scrunching. I try to keep them above my elbow if I can.

I'm with you, Anne. I've got a couple 3/4 sleeve tops, but generally I stay away. What you mentioned about wearing them under long-sleeved layers made me laugh- I was talking to my boyfriend about that just the other day. I was wearing one of my favourite tops (unfortunately 3/4 sleeved) and putting a cardi on top. I was telling him about how I hold the cuff in my hand and "let go" at a certain point inside the cardi sleeve, so that everything is even with no bunches. I said it was a feminine skill. He looked perplexed.

I like mostly long or sleeveless designs, I do like 3/4 length sleeves but only have one top of that type in my wardrobe at the moment.

I don't have many 3/4 tops but i do like them for Spring and Autumn (and miserable Summer's) x

I've always hated 3/4 length sleeves for exactly the same reason - plus I feel I don't look good in them, even though I (now) like scrunching long sleeved items to get to that length.

When I shop I almost always discount 3/4 length sleeved things instantly, but I'm open to having my mind changed...

I like them and wish I had more! I'm pretty clumsy and always seem to get the ends/cuffs of my long sleeves messy. And then at work we have to wash our hands so often that long sleeves always get pushed up as well.

I like the look, but not the feel.
I just recently had a dress custom made, and first I thought I would go for 3/4 sleeves, but then, luckily, I changed my mind. I opted for the full lenght, as I realised that otherwise the dress would be constantly covered by another, long sleeved layer.

I love them and also elbow length which is just a bit shorter. I'm always trying to push up full length sleeves. As San said, they are especailly great for aging upper arms.

Sorry, Anne, I love them too! I think this is my favorite and most flattering sleeve length. I like long sleeves the least, I'm always pushing them up to get them out of the way, and they are often too short for my long arms.

How do you feel about elbow-length sleeves? You can always have the 3/4-length sleeves shortened.

Thanks everyone for your contributions to this thread. Seems like those who like 3/4 sleeves are in the majority, which is good for you, since they do look good! Thanks also to those who were in the same boat and could understand the annoying sensation I experience

Laura, if the sleeves come to just above my elbow I am comfortable with them, but only if they are an outer layer. I have a red cropped cardi that length I wear a lot with no probs at all.
