Nordstroms returns - best way?

To all you NAS veterans - is it better to I return my items in store, or by mail. And when by mail, can I return items from from two orders, but which arrived in 4 separate boxes, all in the same box? If it makes a difference, my Born boots came straight from the manufacturer.

I don't live near a Nordstrom, but will be driving by one in a few days -it will be a bit inconvenient to stop by but doable.

I have the heebies about combining returns from several orders in one box--it's courting disaster, IMO.

I've never had an issue with any method. The benefit to returning in person is that you get the refund faster if that's an issue for you.

By the way if you live near a Nordstrom rack you can return regular Nordstrom items there as well. I do it all the time.

I never combine boxes. It's probably ok but since they always include a label w every box I figure why tempt fate.

You can put several orders together in one box.

If you go in person, I'm sure they're very nice; they always are. I wanted to return to the Rack and called CS and they said the Rack might not accept the items, depending. On what? Well, they weren't able to tell me, exactly. So I put another batch of returns into two boxes and took them to the post office yesterday. One of the boxes weighed nine pounds! I had already returned a bunch of stuff a few weeks ago.

They've fixed the online return feature now. If you logon, you can see everything you've ordered, regardless of the order #. Click on the items you want to return and then print. You can put the printout in any box and reuse any return shipping label.

i combine orders all the time....i've even returned stuff bought in store via mail...one caveat, all items where bought on my nordies charge which makes it easy for them to see my transacation
a couple of quick notes....if possible rubber band the return paperwork or a copy of the recipet to each item. if mulltiple items where on the same shipping document, rubber band or tie all those items together.

if you are concerned, photograph the entire box as you pack it, then 1 final picture that shows everything in the box.. just in case....

The salesperson at the Rack today said they are happy to take Nordstrom returns, but only items under $300. Your store may have a different policy, so just a heads up.

I have combined items from several orders in one box. I have never had a problem. I usually go online and mark off my returns, then print a slip with all the items being returned.

I return to Nordstrom Rack all the time. Never ever have a problem, and I return high end items from Nordstrom. I have also packed multiple orders worth of items in a box and sent it back. Make sure you write the order number someplace and include that. You don't need a special return form.

I also return to Nordstrom Rack, and I've definitely returned multiple orders in one box. Like Staysfit. I don't use a special return form, and I didn't go online to get one.

While I have not returned in store, I have returned items from multiple orders in one box. I simply print the form/s for each online and put them inside the box. They have never mixed them up or not properly credited my returns.

Thanks for all the info about options. It is good to know Nordstrom's Rack is available, and the online form looks really easy. Fortunately I bought these on my account, so all the info was there.

Well, never gave much thought to all the concerns brought up in this post until now after reading all of them. I have three boxes on their way, being returned. I just mixed and matched. I am like delurked, I put multiple items from different orders in one box, and like Staysfit I do not use special forms and do not go online for forms. I use the forms they send me. On a few occasions, a form has not been included, so I just put the info on a form that came with another item or items I am returning from a different order.

I have returned a lot of things and never had a problem. I do hope the orders being returned are received and credited before my next billing date. That is just one of my small anxiety things. If that doesn't happen, I won't worry, because it all evens out anyway.

For what it is worth (nothing), I have returned items mailed to me in North Carolina to Nordstroms in Jacksonville, Fla. This past Christmas I bought a pair of shoes at Nordstroms in Charlotte, N.C and returned them to Nordstroms's Rack in Nashville, Tennessee. The lines were very long there so I did ask an employee if I could return them there and he was very polite and said I could. I sure did not want to stand in line and then not be able to return them! I had my receipt.

I do not mean to offend anyone with the way I express things. I look for and find humor in most everything.

FWIW, I returned a number of items in the same box, and wrote in the information on one shirt that arrived without paperwork - everything was processed and refunded without a hitch.

Thanks for the tips, everyone. I ended up initiating on line return, printed off the page because some items didn't have packing slips, and returned in a Nordstrom I happened to be driving past - easy and smooth as can be.
