Non-control top, reinforced toe, sheer hose?

I wear pantyhose (cringe for the p word!) once in a blue moon. Really, I hardly ever wear dresses anyway. But, I need hose for ballroom competition because I can't wear comp shoes barefoot and little no-show footies in no way stay up for competition level dance, like not even 15 seconds.

I need specifically non-control top (hate control top), actual traditional sheer hose, reinforced toe or they won't hold up to dance, and sheer for my super pale skin. Not tights, as they would be much too hot for this use.

Several years ago, BC19 even, I asked this question and MsMary directed me to the Hanes website, where I bought multiples of exactly what I needed in their Silk Reflections line. Now I've gone through almost all of them and I just tried to repurchase...nope, apparently discontinued.

Any suggestions on where to get something similar for an item that is such a relic?

I can’t speak to quality, but Target has house brand sheers without a control top. A New Day is the label. If you want to set some $$ on fire, Commando has some as well.

Thank you , cat2 , for methioning Target no -control top stockings. I need these as a control top on anything pushes on my diabetic meter. I even asked at Target last spring and no luck. I will try again .

I deifom wear a swim suit but that is another item where control top rules, but I will try again. I was trying to redo my little swim capsule but will try again. I also need swimwear that is two piece but with along part that covers the tummy. You would think they would be abundant but they aer getting rare with fewer choices available. I do not want a low neck or high sides...nothing too revealing. I am 78 years old. No one wants to see that.

Joy, I found the Target ones online on their website. It should tell you if you can pick them up at your local store or need to have them shipped.

Oh, and is the swim style you are looking for a Tankini? Those are the two piece sets with about the same coverage as a one piece? Anne Cole swim, Gottex and Tommy Bahama also all have them. It’s a great time to find swimwear on sale.

Gah, I haven’t worn my pantyhose or tights in years, except for a holiday party last winter. So good to have this info.

Related: who has a good source for “nude” and black sheer knee highs that stay up without pinching? The elastic in my old ones have given up the ghost.
