I know, sorry, but I did look nice and got some compliments. I had wanted to get a pic of my and my teacher, who as hostess was completely in demand much of the evening, and then I got involved in helping out and eventually figured, I will wear it again soon, and have it in my closet for many joyful, celebratory occasions to come! In the meantime, in a bit I'll add on some pics of what other women were wearing at the milonga dance party so you can see the variation but overall type of style (harem pants, floaty skirt, sexy dress, etc).

The dance was a lot of fun (I was too tired to dance, but I loved the music, conversation, and simply watching people).

I have a wonderful story to relate about this. It's an update, really. I had written off topic about this same monthly dance I'd gone to back in March, and how intimidated I had been. And also, about my two teachers' struggle and how we rallied to show them appreciation for all they've done for us with their classes.

Anyway, unlike the past few monthly dances, this last one was booming. Paul had to move some of his small furniture (coffee tables, etc) outside to accommodate everyone. He was also a really gracious host, going around to women who were sitting there and asking them to dance. He spent time talking to me--we are both shy people and it was nice that he seems to have changed. The milonga has changed. It's very welcoming.

I stayed till about midnight and went to thank my woman teacher before heading out. She said, "I can't thank you enough for what you've done for us. I think the energy from that is directly responsible for all the people here tonight. It's totally energized us. We've turned it around because of you." I wanted to cry! They were going to take July and August off; now they're not going to break throughout the summer. Therefore I can get pics next month.

I'm so happy, you can't imagine.
