They posted the employee dress code recently by the time clock. I don't know if it changed, but here's what it said:
no heels
no exposed toes
no Ugg-style shoes
no boat shoes
No boat shoes? The others make sense, but boat shoes are so specific! I laugh, because I'm guessing they meant loafers. But technically these parameters open up a LOT of footwear choices for me.
I used to wear ballet flats and loafers because my department has few health hazards. But since that posting I have been a good sport and eliminated those, choosing only sneakers.
This message is from corporate, so individual managers also will not be able to interpret it correctly. Therefore, assuming my department is fairly safe, I'm going to opt back into slip-ons, at least sometimes. Toms are always on the radar, but do you know of any cute slip-ons that would be great to work in?
