Next? Classiques Entier Silk Overlay Blouse (Update: Scroll down for Boden)

I sized up in the CE blouse, and I'm still not super-happy with the fit. The XL clings less, but it stretches across my breasts and puckers above. It's also catching on my hip, but that doesn't bother me quite as much. This would probably work better all around for someone with a straighter figure.

Also, the arm binding still clings. Again, it's not really uncomfortable, but I'm not super-keen on a dry-clean-only blouse pressing into my armpit all day.

As lovely as the construction is, I think I need a better fit for the price. I've ordered the Boden Ravello blouse as a possible alternative. (I'm looking for a non-polyester ivory blouse that I can layer casually, but also dress up to smart- or business-casual if necessary.)

I agree. For the money, there are too many tiny things that are not good enough. Return the Classiques. Try the Boden.

I'll watch for a post on how the Boden fits. If it works for you, I may give it a try as well.

Yes, I agree. It's a shame because it is pretty and it looks substantial. You know how ivory silk tops are often too sheer. But the arm thing would be a deal breaker for me too.

Next! IMHO, life is too short for a $100 blouse that doesn't fit perfectly. I've never tried on any Classiques Entier so thanks for your review.

I just packed up every single NAS item I've ordered, save the leather jackets. And I'm not feeling super-optimistic about those either. Onward, I guess.

It is not uncommon to get really excited at the beginning of the sale. (especially one as powerfully advertised as NAS). We all end up ordering too much in the heat of the moment. When we take a step back, catch our breath, and really think about it, it is very common to re-evaluate those items.

I'm sorry things didn't work out for you, but you are wise to return subpar items. As Suz would say, "onward."

Sterling, I actually don't feel like I was swept up in a sale frenzy. I ordered a few versions/sizes of three items from my fall/winter list (poncho, blouse, jacket), and my returns have mostly been for fit reasons. I ended up keeping the non-sale poncho.

Ahh, the Boden gets me. Needs more ironing (I did a quick swipe), but it is so much better. Also, machine washable. If it washes well, I'm tempted to duplicate in black or navy. The quality is great. All the seams are bound and, though the fabric isn't as substantial as the double-layered CE, it's still not see-through.

Much better. It looks good. Is this a petite or regular sizing?

ETA - I clicked over to the top and see that it does not come in different sizing ranges. I think this would be too short for my long torso but I love it on you

Wait - I see they have a long line version. I may investigate, but it's not the v-neck version.

Delurked, it's absolutely not petite sizing. I'm 5'9" with a long torso. Most tops are too short on me (as you can see in my dire leather jacket thread.)

The Boden is much better. I haven't tried the v neck Ravello yet but I want to - the scoop neck Ravello was a bit too high necked for maximum flattery on me. I love the construction and quality of CE but the fit doesn't always work for me.

I don't think I ended up with any regular clothing items from this year's NAS either - loungewear, a robe, makeup, and one pair of boots. So it goes sometimes.

Laura, I still have two leather jackets on their way, but I'm not holding my breath. I tried some things I wouldn't have otherwise, though, and the search is leading me to things that do fit and work. You're right. So it goes, sometimes.

Jenn - ok, I somehow forgot. I even commented on the shortness of the jacket ((blushing)). I think I got distracted by the way the other top gathered on you. We are actually fairly close on sizing then.

delurked, no worries. Those of us with longer torsos and shorter (proportionally) legs can often look shorter in photos than we actually are!

Jenn -- forgive me if I implied you got swept up in the frenzy of NAS. Perhaps more accurately I got swept up in the frenzy of NAS. I bought a lot last year (A LOT). I did better this year, but all of the purchases I ended up keeping were either underpinnings or athletic wear. Everything else went back.

I very much like the Boden top on you.

The ravello top looks great! I have two of the round neck ones in heavy rotation. It's fun to see the v neck version and I'd like to try it myself sometime. I hope s leather jacket works out for you too.
