New top?

Please may you help with a new item from Uterque once again. I like this but I think it is a bit noisy may be? And a bit too big? I kind of had it in mind to wear with dark jeans and white bootees as a kind of going out top.

But I think it should probably go back and I should be thinking ‘next’

I’d be grateful for any thoughts!

Yay for going out tops! And for the time to go out now your degree is finished, you hard worker you!
I think it may be a teensy bit floppy but not a deal breaker. The colour is stunning on you with your hair.
My issue with going out tops is buying too many and not wearing them enough. I am studiously avoiding beaded ones which I love since my stunning black Art Deco reminiscent one hasn't had enough wear and it was expensive!
I know that you did a huge edit though so maybe you need more ...

Not too noisy and great with your coloring. Too big is hard to say because the pattern obscures the lines a bit - are the shoulders too wide? Does it gape open uncomfortably? Can you order a size down to compare?

Not too noisy at all! This looks great on you.

I'm not sure about the fit; the poses seem to obscure the lines of the top somewhat. If you're concerned about the size, can you order a size down to compare?

Fabbers, I’ve thought about it overnight and I think it is going to go back.

It is a little bit big and the material is slightly pleated so that adds to the volume. I think if it was tighter it might be very good. I do think it is a bit patterned for me and so with the fit issues it isn’t for keeps.

Thank you Avdan, the boots are a second try at the white boots thing.

Yep, it gapes a little bit Rachylou, it is more puffy though because of the pleats.

Yes Jenni, yay for going out! Floppy is the right word. I am going out tomorrow night and I’m going to wear a Bardot style black top until The Going Out Top is found! Your Art Deco piece is beautiful!

Oh gosh, well good call if the size is off, but boy does leopard suit you! Perhaps a leopard scarf or belt, if a whole top feels like too much?

I agree that it looks a bit big on you - the shape is a bit off. To my eye, it overwhelms you a little. I think you will find a better animal print top for you. Maybe a slightly more subtle, smaller print?

I also hope you can find something similar because I really like that print on you! Something about the pale bits along with the caramel and black leopard print really suits your coloring.

I am actually a fan of a fluid fit for going out tops. Look, if I’m out having fun with my guy or my gals I don’t want to have to worry about sucking it in!

Jane, the pattern is sublime with your complexion. WOW. As for size, is it supposed to be fluid or fitted? If it’s suppose to be fluid - this fits well.

(Rapidly unpacked the ready for return box..) Angie, I have just now (dreadful photos though).

It is a bit 'loose' but could be bombshell with some stitches.

I am going to see what DH says (again). His first reaction wasn't especially positive...

More positive reaction from DH, but the top shifts and moves as I move, and the shoulders come away from where they are meant to sit.

If it were a body or closer fitting, it would be perfect. For a going out top, for me, it needs to be pretty close to a 10 otherwise I will feel a 1 in it!
