I was happy that we decided I would help choose the gift since he was having trouble thinking what to get me. We don’t do gifts for each other every year and for his 60th last year we had to exchange what I thought of for him. It takes away the surprise of a gift though...
I also meant to say that my DD2, when she saw the boots, said “I could go anywhere in the world and see those boots and know those are Mum’s boots”. So she thought they were “me”.
Jenn, they felt very comfortable on try-on, plenty of room in the toe-box, so I think they will be fine.

Congrats on the anniversary! Your jade earrings wishlist has reminded me of a jade bracelet I was given at my wedding but have not been wearing (for fear of breaking it) - apparently jade is something you're supposed to wear daily instead of keep safe (oops lol) because otherwise a lack of body heat makes it turn white instead of green. When that happens, the Chinese say the jade has 'died' - so hopefully the jade earrings will be (very much alive!) workhorses for you too
