New purchases - Keep or return

I am otherwise doing very good on my new shopping resolution (see these posts:http://bella-remixes.blogspot......l/shopping), I got slightly sidetracked by some summer sale purchases.

What to keep, what to return?

#1-5 print dress
I am leaning towards keeping this. Great color, fits well. The question is: Should I hem it? #5 shows the dress pinned at a shorter length.

#6-8 White eyelet dress
I am undecided.
Pros:
-Fits well
- White and eyelet, my favorite summer combination

Cons:
- I already have a white eyelet dress, but it is more casual (seen here: http://bella-remixes.blogspot......bella.html)
- It is a bit more expensive than the print dress
- It may need to be hemmed.
#8 shows it pinned higher.

#9-11
I like it better from the side but the gap is significant. So I'm leaning towards return.

What do you think?

Update: Thank you all for chiming in. I have now returned the boots. I wasn't attached to them and I am sure something better will come along.
I am keeping the print dress and will also keep the length as is for now. I will try wearing (and washing!) it a few times to see if I like the length and whether it shrinks and take it from there.
I am still undecided about the eyelet dress and the opinions seem to be divided as well. I will definitely need to have it hemmed if I decide to keep it to prevent grinning. Maybe I will take a new set of pictures with the hem pinned. I have still plenty of time to return it if I decide to do so.

Bella, I'd be surprised if the print dress doesn't score you a unanimous 10. I love the watercolor print, the colour is luscious and you make it look amazing!
I like everything about the white dress and maybe it is just the pictures but to me the ruffles in the chest area make it look like the fabric is just collapsing onto your sternum/breastbone.
The boots are yummy too, but I agree with you that they gape quite a bit.

The printed dress is completely fab, I wouldn't change a thing.

The eyelet dress I'm not as excited about-- is there something you really love about it?

The boots are cute, but you're right about them tapping a bit. Were you thinking of wearing them with pants or skirts?

OMG the print dress is a 10-plus!!

The eyelet dress isn't super-flattering to my eye. Especially after the perfection that is the print dress. And as fab as the boots are, there is indeed quite a bit of gappage. But as Di suggests, maybe they would work over skinnies?

I actually love both dresses. My eye prefers longer hemlines now, too.

If you want the boots to wear with bare legs, then I'd definitely return. :T

I love the boots, but you would have to wear them with skinny's tucked into them.

The print dress is gorgeous. I prefer it hemmed to just above the knee.

Wowza!! The print dress is an absolute keep.

At first I wasn't sure about the eyelet dress, but after seeing the side view I understood why - there's a ruffle! I think the photo just doesn't illustrate the ruffles dimension, so from the front it looked like maybe the dress just didn't fit well at the chest. Now that I know there's a ruffle there, it looks awesome! Keep!

The boots are great but the gap does seem a bit too much for bare legs. Over skinnies though? Likely fantastic.

LOVE the print dress. When I saw the first picture, I thought yes shorten. But the last one with it pinned up says to me, it looks a lot more sophisticated at the original length, so don't shorten.

The white one: looking at and comparing with your other white dress makes me think this one has a dressy style and structure that's kind of stiff, whereas the eyelet fabric says summer fun - so to me, an odd mixed message. However, the pretty one in your other post, IS summer fun - fresh, breezy, clean, swingy, cool in style, attitude and fabric. I say return.

The boots are - meh. Not the best fit in the calves, and also seem stiff and brash to me. You can probably find ones you like better as the fall inventory comes in to the stores.

I love the print dress and I do think you could hem it. The eyelet is a different vibe from your other so if you really are attached keep. I wanted a white dress this year, but couldn't find one I'd be able to wear to work without looking medical. What everyone else said about the boots - less gapping would give you more options.

Loove the first dress, like the second dress (maybe hem so the "grinning" from the gap between the liner and the outer dress is less noticeable?), meh on the boots.

The print dress is definitely a keeper. Hemming optional. Generally I go for a hem right above the knee, but I'm barely 5ft tall, and I usually like wearing dresses with boots, so often I go for the hems. However if you are saving the dress for an elegant affair, the length is fine.

Ahhhhh white islet dress....I had one myself that recently got ruined and can't find another. So true that they are a perfect summer dress. It's a nice dress, but if money is tight, perhaps return.

The boots? can go either way. They do gap a bit. Were they terribly expensive? Perhaps it is early enough to keep shopping around. Hold on to them for a bit longer but keep the tags on them!!!

Keep the print dress!! I'd say if you already have an eyelet dress, you don't need another, expensive one And I agree the boots have too much gap :/

LOVE the first dress at either length. I really like the white too but i would hem to prevent grinning. Personally, I don't care for the boots. They don't fit well and I don't like the front view of the toe box. Just my opinion of course.

Bella, you are so gorgeous! Love the dresses, especially the white eyelet one, which looks particularly stunning from the side view, wow, which says a lot because I love it from the front, too. I like the elegance of a longer length dress so I wouldn't hem any shorter. The boots are beautiful, but look too big on you.

Don't like the boots - they look awkward for some reason, not just the gap but maybe the leather? Or the buckle AND ties? I think you'll find something better for fab you!

Bella, I love the print dress at it's original, longer length, and I like the eyelet dress at the shortened length. The boots aren't the best, to my eye? Great loot!

Not even reading the replies yet, here's my take:

The printed dress is STUNNING on you. Keep. Keep the length as is.

I'm not wowed by the white eyelet dress, so I'd suggest returning.

Return the boots ~ I know you can do better; they aren't fab enough for fab you.

#1-Keep great fit, colors and size of print. I prefer the longer length.
#2-Return, we are too close to fall to keep a repeat (since you already have white) dress in the closet.
#3-Return, these gape too much. More boots are coming in the stores everyday now, bring on boot season!

keep the blue dress. the white dress's neckline is too high for you-it creates the wrong shape. Return it. I'd take the boots back too.

Loove the printed dress. Keep it, and guard it from jealous women everywhere. I actually like the eyelet too, but if you're doubtful about it's use, return. As for the boots, try them with jeans. If they still gape ( and I'm afraid they'll do) return.

That print dress is is gorgeous on you! I might like it the shorter length, but its current length is NOT too long by any means. It would strictly be your preference.

That said, the white eyelet is not in the same league for fit nor style. If you hadn't posted them together. I might be more favorable toward it.

Did you remove boot pics? It sounds like you decided against them and pics 9-11 do not exist :-\

I'm so glad that you're keeping the print dress and keeping the length as it is. Stunning! I like the eyelet dress also and the length that it is. You look wonderful in dresses!
