Angie's post about trendy jeans silhouettes inspired me to look for another pair of Levi's Wedgie Icon jeans. I have them in cream and love them. I thought it would be nice to find a pair like them in black or faded black. And I did--I ordered them from Shopbop. I was so excited when they arrived, and then I opened the package, and they were the wrong color! Shopbop had sent me a blue jean. I wasn't sure whether to return them or not, since by this time, the black were sold out in my size. And I do love the style. . . .
But I found another couple of options at Nordstrom that were also in the price range I could bear: Madewell's Perfect Vintage jeans, in a faded black, which are very, very similar to the Levi's Wedgie Icon jeans. And Treasure & Bond Stovepipe Straight Leg jeans, which are somewhat different--not quite as high-rise, a little more fitted in the seat, and a true straight leg rather than a tapered one.
I ended up bringing home the Treasure and Bond jeans, because I liked the rear view better. I'm still thinking about whether to get the Madewell jeans, too, or instead of these.
I've tried them on here with different footwear and trying them rolled and unrolled. It's so hard to see details on black jeans in photos, but I'd appreciate any thoughts you may have. Keep? Shorten? Wear rolled or not?
1-2: jeans unrolled, with floral loafers
3-4: jeans rolled, with wine-red studded loafers
5-6: jeans unrolled, with black studded cut-out booties
7: jeans unrolled, with black chelsea boots
thanks in advance for your thoughts!
