Suddenly I get an impression that jeans, the quintessential clothing of the world, has become a sign of age. I know that for the last several years, many young people have chosen to wear leggings instead of jeans for casual bottoms, and for me that was not going to happen. I didn’t particularly like the look but got used to it. But jeans were still around, skinny, cropped, then wider and other different shapes.

However, now I rarely see jeans on under 40s - it’s all joggers or true sweat pants! The people who wear jeans all the time are those over 50- and even many women 20 years older than me.

Does anyone else feel that jeans, which became the common bottoms around 1970 through about 2015 - almost 50 years! - have seen their demise on the horizon?
