Need help with new pink tank plus casual weekend outfit

I bought this tank recently and thought it would look cute with a white jacket and denim pencil skirt but it looks off to me both tucked or untucked. What do you guys think? #3 is a casual weekend look with the tank, since there's been a call for posts with casual looks.

I'm not sure why this feels off to you. I am loving it with the shorts because that is a look for my lifestyle It looks really good with skirt and white jacket too. I am not a belt person but maybe a belt would help it not feel so off to you, but i think its looks great as is.

Beth Ann - Yes, the tank is Old Navy. I bought it a few weeks ago thinking it would be a fun addition to my summer wardrobe. I like the casual outfit with shorts but was hoping to get some work week use out of it too.

I not sure why I don't like the pencil skirt outfits. The proportions look off to me both tucked and untucked. I'm generally Team Untucked so maybe my eye just isn't used to seeing the skirt with a tucked in shirt. It's not just the angle of the picture because I didn't like it in the mirror either. I haven't tried adding a belt so that will be something to experiment with.

Definitely try it with a belt, I think you might feel better that way....although you do really look great as is!

This is a great new tank and you look beautiful, as usual. I hear you on the proportions thing. I have been struggling with them too lately. I love this length of shirt with long skinny jeans, but durned if I know what to do with it when it's too hot to wear jeans. I think it has something to do with the "rule of thirds". Trust me, I have not mastered this yet, but I just wanted to commiserate with you. Imogen has a really good post or section on this on her website where she talks about the golden mean.

I like these long tanks with short-shorts (which I don't wear) because the tank is two thirds and the shorts are a third. When I try a long tank with bermuda shorts (untucked) I get two halves (one square on top of the other) which doesn't excite me as much. It think it works tucked into your skirt ok though. Now *I* need to go watch Imogen's video!

I think #1 looks great. I'd add a necklace and maybe a belt if you want to experiment more. #3 is great too. You look really good with saturated color on top like this!

Oh Jonesy, I wish I had somewhere more interesting than my laundry room to take pictures. I have to admit I enjoy looking at others pictures more when they have interesting backdrops. The laundry room is the only room in my house that has white enough light that the colors of my outfits come out true to real life. I go to work so early that it's usually not light enough to take outside pics.

Is this set still in the laundry room, just not in front of the appliances? I guess I meant that the drapes were a suitably lovely backdrop for lovely you, vs. the washer and dryer :).
