Attention those who are addicted to various gray tops snd pants:
I got the VC knit blazer and hope it will be a keeper after I've had a chance to try on with bottoms.
It's not uber- trendy but what I've honed in on is that the tweedy flecking is in shades of gray from pearl to charcoal. For me this is much better than sharp black & white tweeds or patterns. So hooray, a not- black but neutral jacket that works with both black and gray bottoms and most colors.
One thing I need to see in try- ons is fit over various top thicknesses. It's a WARM knit and while it is cozy- comfortable, it also fits me fairly close in armholes. I don't expect it to work over any really thick sweaters, but If I'm wearing this cozy jacket in cool weather I'll likely be in a top that's warmer than a T or shell or even a silk blouse, but could be thin merino knit.
I also got the Classics flared knit trouser and I'm interested but they appear to run, er, small so don't know if I can find more sizes at this point.
ETA: I got the upsized CE flared trousers and think they will work great after taking in the backwaist( and hemming). They give a slimmimg long legline. It's tempting to hem for 2" heel and maximize that, but I'm working toward staying at 1 to 1.5 " heel for new boots or shooties so will do that. These are similar to some AT pants from
Last winter, which are hemmed longer, and yet these are more streamlined, and a bit lighter fabric, so that gives me a " capsule".
I like the VC knit too strikes but I KNEW it would run short and it does. I should not have ordered it. At this length I need either slight flare at the hip or boxy, or tops " ride up" unless longer.
The Halogen long sweaters: neede to size down but will not re- order as are meh on me. The boucle is pretty; the black- burg us a good color but is too itchy- polyester- feeling ( funny the boucle is not so much) .
I love the colors of the loafers snd am keeping thd larger size.
Kept trying to order the leather vest as sizes came back online, and it let md order but then cancels each time. Probably just as well since a very slightly fitted style would likely look better on me. I did not try that panel front skirt, but did try the Laf 148. It does not fit me well. I should stick with Ann Taylor, which over time continues to come out with some skirts that " get me, " and be more minimalist( i.e., repeat wear of best- fitting skirts) and not try to over- duplicate. )
