Hi Marilyn - nice to see you again! I am super disappointed too - it's eliminated so many labels and brands that we used to have access to.

I know this thread is about Nordstrom’s, but after my own disappointment with Nordies, I want to give a shout out to HBC (The Bay). I know the actual B&M stores can be a jumbled nightmare - but their online shopping has been amazing over the past 18 months. I’ve been able to refresh my u-wear, pick up clothes from several categories (bottoms, tops, outerwear), footwear, a wallet, a bag, etc. Deliveries were free and fast, and the few returns I made managed quickly and efficiently credited back to my card. Best of all, I’ve been able to find some of Angie’s Fab Finds on their site. The HBC site also carries Saks stuff since the stores are somehow linked.

So disappointing! I'm glad you can get the bag, though. It's very pretty in person.

Thanks for sharing this Suz ... I was wondering about that, as I've clicked a few things from here and other sites, but when I try to find them on the Canadian site, no luck Glad you had a small amount of success at least!

Lisa, I am sorry to not reply for so long. I didn't check this thread.

TNTfashion is a store in Toronto that carries lines like Acne Studios, Nili Lotan, etc. It is in Yorkville. They have a website.

Hi, Lisa! Yes, I guess I've been on a bit of a hiatus. Must start popping in more.

That sucks. I empathize with Team Canada

Why can't Nordies Canada and Nordies USA simply stock the same items! It would eliminate much frustration and disappointment.

Thank you all for commiseration and support! It's really mystifying why they can't let us order the same merchandise, or at least most of it.

To make matters worse, when I did figure out an order, they cancelled half of it! I decided to stock up on some undies in a colour to match two of my current bras -- but am only getting one pair.

I did manage to order some bras (not on the US site) but am not sure they will work. I decided to go back on my vow not to buy undies since it is definitely cheaper when I can find them and on re-examination, a few of my other bras were looking tired.

Anyway -- the bag is the only item I'm really looking forward to. The rest is socks and one pair of underpants.

Carla, I am going to investigate the Bay again. They've frustrated me beyond belief in the past (the stores and the online experience) but it sounds as if they have stepped up their online game. Good to know.

Oops, spoke too soon -- they just cancelled my last pair of undies. OY vey.

This is very frustrating. I'd say they had more options at last year's sale than this year's -- and surely supply is not the problem this year to the extent it might have been last year.

I have had good experiences with the Bay online - shipping is very quick and returns are super easy to do in store . With regards to NAS in Canada, it's been a complete bust for me. Every single thing I put on my wish list was gone when I was able to order, and I've checked back a few times and all are still sold out. I'm not buying into that emotional "wish list building " exercise again . I really don't have time nor the interest in checking back and stalking things - it's a turn-off more than anything for a shopper like me.

Yes, I get it, Lisa. I'm not into it, either.

Onwards to the Bay!

I'm a poor stalker too. Onward, indeed!

Suz and LisaP, I wonder if it's worth talking to Nordies about on their FB page? If you feel like it....

Eh - I don’t spend enough anymore for them to pay attention to me . I’m not a card holder either .

I might just do that, Angie. Thanks.

I think supply is a real issue this year because demand is higher - and Production is badly impacted in many places such as India, Vietnam and Thailand that were not as affected last year. Shipping channels are also under huge stress - possibly more here than in North America - for logistical reasons. Let alone the extra precautions in place along the way….

Different market I know but at the moment bikes and tennis balls are in very very short supply. There is demand but no supply……

I had to replace my phone. I basically said - what do you have in stock - retailers were advertising some models but delivery was months out…..

I think the rest of the year will be like this - it is frustrating when retailers are tempting you but can’t deliver.

Sal, thank you for your thorough and level headed explanations. They make a LOT of sense. Very good reminders that we are still in the middle of a global pandemic, and that life is no way near smooth sailing - especially in an industry that was struggling before the pandemic.

Very good points, Sal. I agree with all you have said. It doesn't fully explain the difference between availability of items between Canada and the US (if they can be had in the US from this merchant, why not Canada) but the Canadian market is so much smaller -- they probably want to play it safe. And costs are high to send items across the border willy nilly. It might just cause too much confusion. So they are playing it safe.

Yes I am not sure why there is different treatment of Canada and the US - it doesn’t seem the way to win over Canadian customers.

I sometimes feel that way with Australian retailers in NZ - they add on $20 when the ER suggests it should be $8-$10 and the range is not as good.

Like many, I was lukewarm on the Canada sale, but I did order the Lex boots and a pair of Vince Caputo mules. Both are going back. The mules are particularly poor quality, and the boots are just not my style, plus they have a broken zipper which makes me wonder about their quality too. It was worth a try, but I won’t count on the NAS the way our US neighbours can.
