My turn! K/R: J Crew AND Zara, all in the same day.

One package was delivered to work today, and the other was sitting on my step when I got home. Another Christmas!

So here are the goods. One Zara top was a definite no, so I'm not showing it, but the rest are definite possibilities.

1-2. J Crew linen pants and J Crew linen v-neck sweater. I bought the pants in long, on the chance they could be worn full length. Not sure they are quite long enough though... thoughts? Now, this sweater is NOT a colour in my normal colour palette, and I knew that going in, but felt like trying it anyway. How do you like it?
3. Same shirt, sleeves scrunched though, which is what I would do. Sometims I get too excited to get the photo to finish "getting dressed" And with the navy linen pants.
4-5 J Crew boat neck sweater in navy. It's not as drapey as I had hoped, but I still think it's a good fit. Should I try a size larger?
5. A zara top. It's pretty thin - I still had my tank on, so the white is showing through a bit. not sure I'd wear it tankless or not.
7-9 Zara sweater - Lemminged from Cocolion I think? Is this too much for my massive shoulders? I really wanted something to wear with the skirt in 9 as well, as all I have so far to pair it with is tees. Thoughts on that?

I'd appreciate any thoguths you may have, on any of it. TIA!

Love the 2 J Crew sweaters and the linen pants. I like them rolled, but I'm often "off" on PPL. I'm not loving the other two tops. I think you're right...it's something about the shoulder fit.

Wow Elizabeth that pink just makes you glow! Didn't expect that somehow. Part of the learning curve with the new lighter hair I guess--but it draws attention to your face.

Loving the linen and the boatnecks. I am the wrong person to ask about pants lengths, I am not near picky enough (but I think they look fine down as well as rolled).

I'm not feeling the top in 5, it's the shape apart from the sheerness; it's not fab enough for you.

Not sure about the white sweater. It's not the width of the shoulders, it's how they droop.

I love the navy sweater on you. I'd be inclined to try the next size up for more of a drapey fit but only if you want more slouch. This size looks good with the slouchy trousers. Pink sweater looks cozy and cute. Blue Zara top is breezy and fun. Love the white short sleeve with the shorts and the trousers especially. I think you have the shoulders to pull that sleeve off. It looks very cool!

i like the JCrew tops best. The necklines are great on you. Pink looks good and summery with the white and silver, so if you like it, keep.The navy seems to work in that size--meaning, I don't see "too small" when I look at the photo--but dark colors are hard to see. May need to figure out if you want slouchy fit or just a nice easy classic fit as it looks good and might layer better if not oversized and/or might have longevity as a neutral staple. Move arms up and down and see if you have to keep pulling it into place. I have trouble deciding sometimes on sizing--I'm really avoiding all fitted knits but the fluid vs. oversized is sometimes a dilemma.
I'm not sold on the Zara necklines and shoulders.

unfrumped, you passed the test :). These Zara crew necklines are NOT my friend. And I know that. I figured I could disguise that with a necklace or scarf, if the rest of the item was just right, but I don't think they are. Nor do I t want to have to add things, esp in the summer. I suspect they'll go back.

Glad to hear you like the pink... I think. I really like the colour, but it doesn't make my skin's lightbulb go on the way that bold colours do. It's actually neat to see this, now that I've become more accustomed to wearing bold colours. I'll see if I get any more opinions here, and get an IRL one from a friend soon. It's probably a keeper though.

And the larger sized navy shirt is now gone, so it looks like this is the one, if it's "approved"

The pink is lovely on you! I'm beginning to wonder if this might be one of those universally flattering colours. You and Sveta and I are all very different in colouring but it seems to flatter each of us!

Love the pants (well, I would...duh!) Your talls are about the same as my regulars unrolled. Just a touch short, I think, for wearing, but maybe okay with a relatively flat shoe -- just need to fiddle with overall proportions in that case. I do prefer them rolled to show a bit of structure (and show off pretty sandals). Aren't they comfortable? The drape is just sensational.

I like the boatneck on you, too. It costs to return so unless you want to make another order (I think you probably got a catalogue with free returns in it?) then keep this size and see if you can stretch it a bit after washing by blocking it. I did that with my pink one because my daughter, who is an IT, wanted to wear it for anti-bullying day. Worked like a charm, and then I washed it and blocked it back to my size. Presto chango!

The Zara tops don't get you. Let them go and onward to the next great thing!

I do so love the linen pants. They drape beautifully and look super comfy. I am no experton pants length, but they would look good to my eye rolled, or left down with an ankle strap sandal.

As for the tops, I think the pink one is a keeper for sure. I am less certain on the navy. Still, it does look comfy, so I am instantly biased towards it!

I would pass on the Zara tops. Neither are good enough for you.

Love the linen pants and both J Crew tops. I think the pants would be fine full length with flats.

I like the pink top too! It is an excellent color on you. And I think the pants length is good.

I'm not really excited about the short-sleeve tops. There's something about the shoulder structure that is unflattering, imo.

I think the navy top is good for size. It doesn't look overly fitted; it's still somewhat relaxed. I would be concerned that the next size up might be too big and look sloppy. Looks like you don't have to make that choice, though!

I'm so loving that new haircut. I can't get over how great it looks on you!

Actually, my favorite top on you is the white Zara top. It looks so cool and modern in 7 & 8. I like the linen pants too. A tad short but they look best rolled anyway. The shoes are gorgeous.

Thanks so much ladies! I'm still a bit on the fence about the white top - I also think it's "cool" but just not sure it's good for me - that neckline.... I hope Angie weighs in. I'll sit on that one for a few days I think.

The pink top and linen pants look wonderful on you. So does the Zara blue top but I vote nay for Zara white top.
