I think it looks great on you, but not seeing the versatility, if that 's what you want. It's a shirtdress in on sense, but very dramatic (in a good way--you rock). I agree it seems too short in front for bare-legs day dress look. Is it a one-look wonder? To me the olive dress works very differently in that regard.
So, I'm only asking, what do you want from it, as part of your dress capsule. Or, perhaps it is a fun look and you already have the items to go with it, so it works.

You are gorgeous in it, the colour is striking on you, but knowing your style and what you usually wear, I am just wondering if the red + dramatic hi-low isn't too much. If it were me, I know I would get it, then never wear it b/c of this. I voted R.

Unfrumped, I'm not quite sure what you mean about the olive being more versatile . . . because it's a more subdued color? The olive is actually shorter than the red, so it's never been worn bare legged. Of course, if you just don't like it, you don't like it
It's funny, at first I was worried about how bold the red might be, but it made me see the pics of the olive differently and I actually prefer the contrast now of the bright. Maybe I'm just shifting out of neutrals mode back into colors?

Stunning. I think this could be a very versatile piece. It is kind of statement-y due to the colour but it look so good with leggings and you could layer over it also.
